Same! I’m not interested in relationships but I am a fellow workaholic and when I have time to meet people and go to events I go to church events. The people there are very inviting and I always feel welcomed.

It takes time to cultivate a relationship. Meeting people is only the first part. Now that you’ve realized what’s more important, it’s only a matter of time to meet someone, date him/her, become involved and committed. If you don’t do apps, why don’t you hit old friends up and let them know you are on the market? Usually people in relationships are more keen to hook you up with a suitable mate, as they are neither your competitor or your oyster.

... Worry that I will settle and end up with a random person because I don't want to end up alone. Anyone else worry about this? For the workaholics, how did you find a good partner?

Same situation here.....28 single male. Went from being a popular guy with a lot of friends, to really not being close with anyone due to canceling plans and always being busy working or being in a different city. I’ve done all the apps, often times it’s the same people on all of them and overall I have a hard time getting excited about it. I find it easy to get matches and get dates but I end up cancelling because I’m so meh about it. Dated a coworker earlier this year.....bad idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️

like

Dude...when I did online dating some of my best dates were dates I was meh about. The worst ones were usually the ones who seemed interesting. Go on those meh dates and you might be surprised!

This is sad, no level of success would be worth missing out on such important relationships in life. Best of luck to you.

Same here!

Same! I went to school late (started in early 30's). Was in an almost 10 year relationship, that I ended. I actually have never used dating apps because they weren't around before that, then I was really too busy once the relationship ended to get on there. Finally found someone, then they died last year. I'm 37 and I give up. I think I've aged out of even bothering to try

F/Boston. I find the modern dating scene/apps terrifying. I'm old fashioned, I think. Can't I just meet someone while I'm getting drunk at the bar or at a concert?!🤷🏻‍♀️ lol

PWC5: I’m so sorry. How did they die?

Overly drunk, which depresses your system, and he just stopped breathing in his sleep and never started again. He didn't have health insurance, so there was no attempt to ever treat it

Why do I feel so guilty about wanting to take another offer and leaving my team? I like my current teammates just HATE the client and project. I’ve also asked for a raise multiple times and have been told no. I’m underpaid but am up for promotion this year (June). I don’t think Deloitte can/willmatch. I want to take the money but I feel like I’m still learning leaderships skills and can see the potential for beefing out the management portion of my resume. What would you do? (Offer 50% more)

Curious to thoughts on “best time” to get pregnant/have kids. Am currently a first year consultant and would like to have one soon, but worried about my reputation and promotion timing.

If you knew you were getting promoted and you think your company will offer a 10% raise but the market rate is probably closer to 20-25% raise, how would you go about it?

Is it possible for you & your partner to both be career driven/focused and be able to raise kids? My husband & I have 1 child so far & we want to expand our family with 1 more but I’ve been told from multiple people that 1 person usually has to back down & it’s usually the mom. We both have demanding jobs but we’ve made it work so far with scheduling & tag teaming activities/tasks related to our kid, dogs & home.

I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..

What is the path to a GC for a senior associate on a TN? I’ve been with my firm since college (2 years) - firm policy is that they initiate the process after a two year tenure (and provided you are senior associate rank, at minimum). Will I be able to pass the PERM evaluation? If not, would things get easier with a subsequent promotion? Or would it be best to lateral to a new firm and start the process there?
