My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. Currently a second year associate in audit and looking for - as ridiculous as it sounds - better pay and better hours. I really like audit but I have only been with the firm for a little over a year and i’m burnt out and worse, starting to lose passion for it. I think the long hours are just not for me. So I’m trying to move into a TA manager role and having zero luck trying to get an interview with any company I apply. Guys if you are using apps such as Grindr and Scruff, please be careful. One guy that I was chatting with on Scruff in Pittsburgh found my Facebook account and since my profile was public, he found information of my family members and threatened to send pictures, chat history to my family members. Lesson learnt - make your social media accounts secure (don’t make your Facebook profile profile). He has blocked me since then, so I couldn’t report his profile

I found that my straight friends are mostly married and have kids this their life is more about kids now and they hang out with families with kids more often. There aren’t many gays to start with except the few big cities and younger ones enjoy hanging out with younger folks. Not out to my family, colleagues and most of my friends. I live my live quite freely and I haven’t had a GF so people could guess but they don’t. I don’t feel comfortable coming out yet and I don’t really like the concept either but there’s diversity survey we must fill and as a small company people would 100% be able to guess it’s me if I say I’m LGBT, or even prefer not to say when the aggregate stats are shown. I don’t wanna lie and say I’m straight though. What do I do?
