Hi Fishers, I want to pivot my career into management consultant. I am currently working as a Market research analyst with 1 YOE. Can someone please suggest me how or where should I start to build my career in management consulting at Big 4.
Also, please suggest entry level jobs that I will be eligible for with skills in Strategy, primary and secondary research, and competitor analysis.
Thanks in advance!

I asked TCS for a salary renegotiation, they agreed and they sent the new salary breakup, But they are not sending the revised offer letter, Whenever I ask them they are saying it's in the clearance process you'll receive shortly.
But my date of joining is on Monday, HR is telling me to join & they'll send the updated offer letter within 7 days of my joining, can we trust these words, Has anyone faced a similar situation?Tata Consultancy

2 years B4 experience out of undergrad? and this is a startup with just series A? and they’re giving you equity? this is more than fair imo. how much do you make now?
if you are thinking of negotiating just for the sake of negotiating, don’t.
if you have a valid reason (e.g. pay not enough of an increase over current salary, going to just miss an annual bonus by leaving now, etc), then go ahead and say just that. it’s not that complicated.
a negotiation should be natural. you should have a good reason(s) that you can honestly and confidently assert and defend. if you have no reason like this, don’t negotiate.
Thank you both for your insight and perspective!
I’d take it
What are they valuing the equity portion at? What is its value in your mind? What is your bailsisbfor negotiation? Do you believe in their product and long term vision? With an early stage startup, pay should be lower on your priority list but if you just go to them and ask for more money, there is no chance you'll get it. But if the base + bonus are giving you a pay bump, which at 2 YOE could be the case, then isn't it worth a try?
I think their product is awesome and I totally would take the offer as it stands now as it is still a pay bump and moving to the product side is my career goal regardless. Just wanted to get some more perspective on the negotiations side since the startup world is very new to me. The stock option current cash value is 91K
You should always negotiate
Base + bonus looks good - most startups don’t even have a bonus portion.
You can probably go a bit higher on equity
Been getting offers from a few early stage startups. Also have friends who are early stage VCs or founders
Equity is the biggest part of the offer. I’d strongly consider it. 91k can double if not triple in a few years.
Update: countered with 125k base and 0.25% equity. They said that would be a little too high but are willing to split the difference- either the bump in base or bump in equity. What would you recommend going with in this case. Am torn Bc while I do believe in the product, it’s still an early stage company and the equity could be worth nothing while an increased base will carry over to future raises. However there is still the huge upside of the equity if the company takes off. Any advice?
