Talk about a strategy pivot
Tech Mahindra Hey guys, I attempted Hackathon by tech Mahindra (for jr java developer 1-3 yr exp). After 3 days I received a call from hr confirming that I have been shortlisted and took hr round on that call. Later I received a document verification mail asking for all essential docs which are required for joining, but didn't received any offer letter yet. When I cross checked mail address with my friend in tech Mahindra, he confirmed that such hr exists with same e-mail id. Is it normal in tech Mahindra?

Consulting = Sales. What am I missing?
What's the product?? If the startup has legs, you could make a lot of money. Make sure they can't adjust your commission model every year. I've heard stories about the original sales guys from Oracle, S&P and SFDC, the ones who kept their comp models when the services blew up... $$$,$$$,$$$.
Consulting as a staff, senior and even most managers is not at all sales. It's delivery based on the sales of others.
Hey I just was offered a very similar position. Never done sales but I just signed the offer letter. I am currently reading new sales simplified, and have also been browsing r/sales. Good luck mane!
Thanks D1 and good luck to you!
I think this community is the best to seek opinions bc everyone else I ask that's not in consulting doesn't have the same perspective in my opinion
Depends on the product and person. Great $$ and lifestyle if you are good.
Great $ if you get s good commission, definitely do it if you want a better lifestyle and aren't afraid of risk
Are you a salesperson?
What are you selling and do you believe in the product
I'd be selling in the tech space, company would be a late stage startup. 86k base first year and then 80k after (they gave me more $ 1st year bc of my lack of leads and prior sales experience which I expressed as a concern of mine) if I hit my annual quota I'd make another 56k but no cap on commission if I exceed quota. Small company which is a plus for me (130 people) since I've been at such a large company and would like to see the other side of things. Awesome people which is the biggest plus for me. Just turned 25 and based out of Chicago
Never been in sales per se, on my current engagement which I've been at over a year I've taken on a sales type position as the PM who also deals with all client relations and sales efforts do to my passion for relationship building and rapport with the client
First few years out of college I did sales. I learned a lot including I hate sales. It made me better though. I suggest you go for it, that's a solid offer and you can always go back to consulting.
Thanks PwC 2, I'd be taken a slight cut in base pay but the upside is obviously much greater
Go for it you can always boomerang back if it doesn't work out. God speed. I'm jealous
Also if you currently work in tech and are selling tech product the people you're selling to will take you more seriously
The product is a virtual events platform. They're considered to be a leader in their space from all the research I've done. 20-30% year-over-year growth the past 2 years
Sounds good to me. Do you think you are cut out to handle the constant rejection that comes with sales?
D1- I've thought about that and I think I'd be good with the rejection honestly. But I've never had to deal with rejection at the level it could be at in sales. I'll never know if I don't try though, right? I mean if it's that bad at least I'll come out of it with thicker skin lol
