OP - you need to clarify which type of partner. If it is your relationship partner, you're getting put on a PIP. If it's some sort of market resources partner, likely to be a layoff. Either way, get your resume together and be prepared to talk to recruiters on Monday.
After staff 1 year we all had a personal meeting with a partner (we were on 10degree). I don't recall if HR was CCed. If no one else in your class has received invites you're probably getting put on a PIP.
Partner is an asshole for sending that invite on a Friday and making you worry all weekend.
Expect PIP, but be prepared for anything.
Expect to be let go. Sorry! On to bigger and better things.
No I've had 104% utilization the year I was here
What things did they say you weren't doing well?
If you knew it would be a layoff, just decline the invite. Lol
I wouldn't think it's a PIP. I think the firm is letting go a lot of people given how much they overhired for vision 2020 and how poor the outcome is. The firm is getting cheap these years and Weinberger really sucks. OP, just be prepared for anything.
Update us OP
I'm assigned until my last day actually
You guys are getting your ratings back right now too right? It's probably a PIP for now.. depending on your reviews and situation
Please let us know how it goes OP. I just finished my first year and got PIP as well
Partners are required to be included on the email and the process when laying off someone. However, typically they will just greet the employee at the meeting and leave to have them talk to HR
You're getting fired. Sorry. HR has no business being there.
Isn't it possible HR is only being cc'ed for visibility and tracking of comp meetings?
Staff 1 in the Midwest. I'm in Assurance
I wouldn't want to be with a firm or an office that doesn't explain or invest in you to improve your performance. If it is indeed PIP, I'd pay close attention to the actual plan they set for you to get out of PIP. Is it measurable? Is it constructive? I was told one of A1 got a feedback that the A1didn't communicate with client enough. Problem is they wanted all the emails to sent by A3 and above. WTF kind of feedback is that if you're telling your A1 not to send emails directly to clients and then turn around tell staff they're lacking communication with client? Anyways, if it's some lame feedback like that with no quantifiable measurements to show your improvement, you probably pissed someone off and they're trying to force you out. If that's the case I'd consider it time savings since you shouldn't be with a team like that anyways
Laid off - last day is July 31 and I received 4 weeks severance. It's actually a surprisingly good package when I think of it, considering I'm a first year.
