Where is the lie
Hi guys,
I am currently on notice period and my LWD is Sep 2, 2022. Today, I got an offer from state street mentioning my joining date as Sep 12, 2022 even though I already told HR that I would like to join from Sep 5 itself. How can I convince HR to prepone my joining date to Sep 5, 2022. I don't want to lose my one week salary guys. Pls suggest. State Street

If it were anyone else I would say their fine. But because it’s you, specifically you, I think you need to aim higher. 740, bleh, the M7 would spit at that score. Keep grinding and maybe you can boost it up. Maybe.
Congrats on being in the top 3% of all test takers!

Yeah that IR score is pretty gnarly ...
Yup pretty disappointed in that tbh... I know ad coms don’t care too much about it, but a 6 is p low

First up, congrats on your 740.
I shake my head though anytime someone wants to try for more after getting anything above 700. IMO you really think the admit officers care once you go over 700? It’s a tick box in your application NOT a differentiator. Spend the time working on your essays. That is the BIGGEST factor within immediate control now. Also try to do more for your community, get that promotion at work, get amazing references, etc. You have months left for round 1 yet alone round 2 applications. If you still have time, then maybe consider an extra school or two to cover your bet as applications are competitive.
For additional context, I’m an MBA2014 from a top school and interviewed over 20 candidates since.

Work out your unique selling points, find 2-3 strong examples that sell those and draft a solid story. Make sure you answer the question. Read between the lines ie Why an MBA? Is really ask not just why an MBA but also why an MBA at this school.
If you have the time, once you’ve done something you’re happy submitting, leave it alone for 2-3 weeks then re read. I guarantee you will find holes and improve it.
740 is a great score! FWIW I retook after getting a 740 and bumped my score to 760. If you think that you can get your score up and that your time isn’t better spent on other parts of the app, then it might be worth it! I’m assuming you’re not applying this fall?
Nope! Plan is to apply in 2-3 years :)
