I appreciate the sentiment. But I take issue with the use of “to work.” We never stopped working. In these situations I have taken to saying “return to the office” or something like that.

K1 — that was clearly the case with the original email. IBM probably paid MBB thousands for the original email around our updated COVID Work policies. The second (which I quoted above) was obviously just the regional lead typing off the cuff.

Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!

I was hired as a client service associate, and had to get the SIE and S7 certifications to secure my employment, been here for a year now and really want to be part of the business aspect. I’ve ended up being stuck at the front answering calls, cleaning up the conference room and babysitting the office while the FAs go on conferences and have big meetings.
