Just recently I found out people fear auditors lol. I went for an in-person walkthrough and this guys were over explaining, even providing documents that I don’t need lol.

Industry folks conflate auditors with tax auditors.

FS auditors aren’t here to find your mistakes and penalize you folks… they actually want to help you and just sign off on your statements as quickly as possible.

I’m hoping Audit businesses lean in on the potential operating leverage created by GPT and finally modernizes itself to be a place people want to work. The rest of the business units have much more manageable hours (and better pay).

Sometimes it’s fear and sometimes it’s dislike or annoyance

I work in industry. My boss was an auditor for a long time and he tries to make it out like they have the power to end our business.

I obviously took that with a grain of salt, but thank you for the reassurance. It was difficult to take them seriously too, cause I have more experience than 3/4 I’ve met on the engagement.

Auditors and policemen. (:

I had to do a fraud inquiry with a non-accounting personnel when I was a staff and the guy I interviewed during the audit was so damn nervous he was visibly shaking until I told him he wasn’t in trouble for anything 😂🤣

Hello, All! I'm looking for recommendations on inspirational content for women leaders. I follow TEDWomen, many podcasts, and the Women's Conference among other sources. I'd love to hear a fresh perspective on business, trends, tech, marketing, equality in the workforce, etc. I'd love to learn something new. I'm at the VP level and have started a couple of companies, so nothing too junior, but open to many topics. Please share any speakers, books, webinars, or events that you may come across.

Hello. My name is Deja. I’m 21 years old and trying to break into tech. I am currently studying through DataCamp on a scholarship and I LOVE it. I want to maximize this opportunity and go far with it but I’m not sure if all the ways to make it to a career. I’ve researched and also career searched but I’m still unsure on the best paths to take. If someone could help me narrow a focus I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Hello. I have a final round interview for Business Intelligence Engineer position. My final interview is scheduled for 4.5 hours long. That’s long. I know I need to follow the STAR. Besides that, what should I expect and be prepared for?

The previous round covered SQL whiteboard and few behavioral questions.

I appreciate your help and insights. Thanks.

Hi tax 🐠,

I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?

Currently looking into prep paths for it, am interested to hear perspective from someone who took both on how you prepped for it compared to CPA.
