Just saw a posting for a 2nd to 5th year corporate associate but “seeking attorney from a top 25 law school, in the top quarter of your graduating class.” Come on, really? Even for a 4th or 5th year, law school grades still matter? Rubbish!

I made a career pivot into a tech role, but it's a 6-month contract and I had to sacrifice my title. Several weeks in, my supervisors realized I'm capable and even mentioned bumping up my title soon. I'm guessing I can't negotiate my salary while still under contract (this is my first contract job). But is this something I can bring up if the role becomes FTE? Do salaries usually change drastically from contract to FT?

Since iOS 14 changes, Facebook ads isn't the same anymore. Why?

A. >75% iOS users denied tracking. They are no longer tracked across websites/apps. Facebook lost its edge.
B. Targeting and conversion tracking aren't as effective anymore.
C. Many advertisers have been migrating their budgets from Facebook to Apple and Amazon ads.

I recently got a call from a recruiter for a competitor. Exmanager said I sign a 2 year noncompete…don’t remember but asking 3rd party HR for record.

If this progresses how enforceable is the noncompete clause if a previous manager went an even bigger competitor with theirs not enforced, old marketing manager left & I have been doing both jobs since with no promotion or $ after asking twice. Also I do not have access to any financials or product dev. info.

Im totally stuck at work; my boss has stopped me from growing (not allowing me to try new things like sit in on mediation, attend depos or hearings or write different pleadings) and is constantly criticizing me. Interviewed to the final round at a buzzy tech startup. Multiple rounds of interviews, hours and hours spent appearing, preparing, etc. and rather than receive the rejection or offer I should have received by the end of the week as promised I get a “candidate experience survey” email at 3am todayfrom an @noreply email. Wtf is wrong with some people? Do startups low key treat people like fungible robots like law firms? I’m starting to respect big companies that have the courtesy to say “denied.”

I’ve been in big law for almost three years now and I find it remarkable that we never have conversations about whether our work is unethical, whether our clients have a net negative impact on society, or whether we as individuals-through our work-are leaving the world a worse place than we found it.

Anyone on income based loan repayment? Can’t decide whether to try to pay off ASAP Dave Ramsey-style or pay as little as possible, let interest balloon and have the balance “forgiven.” Both seem equally bad at this point (> $200k in loans), especially when income is projected to increase over time.
