Just saw a role for “AI Foundry, Vice President” at Deloitte. Any intel on what this role actually is? Where does AI Foundry fit within Deloitte’s service lines? Also, where does the VP title fit in with the more traditional consulting levels?

AI foundry will probably roll up to S&A. VP is equivalent to SM+

likehelpful

Yes. Keep in mind though D doesn’t have a director level just managing director - equivalent to partner.

The VP role is one that isn’t part of the traditional consulting career path (not part of the standard progression from Analyst to Principal or Managing Director. It does roll up to Strategy & Analytics but is typically part of a center (development center, studio, etc.).

Similar to core business services such as the shared services center in Hermitage, TN. More of an industry track that is not up-or-out. More about focus on long-term SME skills.

Sits in S&A, product role for AI talent, SM level.

Foundry is a Palantir Technology I believe

I was reached out to about a role that I was interested in pursuing but the recruiter said their base was 30k-40k lower than my range. However, recruiter came back 2 weeks later and said they can make it work and is interested in setting me up for interviews. In the mean time within those 2 weeks, I ended up accepting a role and started the new job. I would have taken the first job but don’t want to renege. What do I tell the first company so doors are left open for future if needs arise?

I don’t have any consulting experience, maybe just a few cases at school. I don’t consider myself aggressive, I’m more of a laid-back person. Im hard working and don’t mind working high hours. The reason I want to make the switch is 1) I think consulting work is generally more interesting; 2) more exit opportunitie

I have been working at the same small firm for almost 9 years. If I were to interview elsewhere and reach the offer stage, I don't know what I can do about providing references. I wouldn't be able to share that I'm interviewing with my manager or even my peers. At my previous company, I was in a much more JR role - and I didn't have a tight relationship with my manager. Any suggestions - thoughts? Thank you so much!

Senior up for promo to manager in audit in next year. Have decided I do not want to be an auditor. Which of these paths do you think is best? 1. Stay 1 more year, exit to industry with manager title. 2. Move to advisory internally, but most likely would have to do one more year in audit and move as audit manager to advisory sr 3. Exit immediately into industry to try for accounting manager title / senior accountant or sr fin analyst 4. Exit immediately to advisory senior at another big 4 firm

Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!

My firms bonus structure is based on “billed out” (what a partner actually bills to the client) dollars instead of actual hours billed. So you can work 2000 hours but the bonus is based on only 1850 hours, because 150 got cut over the year. Is this normal? It seems entirely unfair and makes it impossible to get a bonus.
