If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

I was actually hoping that it would be like the Boy Scout merit badges that I could sew on my shirt.
Ooh boy, can't wait to see a resume with "platinum status in testing PP&E" on it.
What is a badge?
Someone explain this to those of us not in lesser firms
@D1-Someone just went Platinum on their American Airlines mileage. It’s a pretty big deal.
EY4, that would be great! We could have spirit days where we all wear our badges! 🤣🤣
I have never read a single email or other internal communication about badges nor has anyone in Tax leadership asked me how I’m progressing on badges. Not even sure what they are for, how they are earned, what (if any) importance they have. It has not come up in any counselor connect discussions either
@EY 1 how much of experiences a senior can get? There is no transparency on these exceptions.
Why is that a big deal? Means that they travel a lot for clients and utilized often?
Would be funny to see seniors looking like generals and partners with none
That badge requires significant experience to be signed off on. Is he / she a subject matter expert?
OP, some seniors in advisory have significant experience if they’re in a technical role. That’s why some seniors make more than some managers in other LoS.
Senior is a broad range. Could be Senior 3 up for promotion to manager this year. 🤷🏽♀️ I know SMRs with law degrees that are seniors
EY badges is a new program that basically lets people get some kind of recognition for building certain skills. You complete courses and trainings and can get sign offs from higher ups.
It's basically an internal certification
Only people in Advisory care about this nonsense.
The badges are mostly related to technology skills. Robotics, AI, that sort of thing. I considered trying for them and after reading the materials and requirements (I'm an ED in tax), I realized I would need to go back and get a computer science degree to have any chance at this. As someone mentioned above, this sounds like an Advisory thing not a Tax/Assurance thing. BTW, is it morning already? Wow. Another day finally over. :-)
