Hi All!
This is my first post in Fishbowl, I'm looking for some genuine guidance on below query.
I have total of 8.1 yrs of development experience in Java, Bigdata and Hadoop (new to it).
I got an offer from Capgemini for Manager/C2 designation with a CTC of 24 LPA. I just wanted to know the roles and responsibilities at this designation.
Will it be a profile shift from technical to managerial position or is just a designation (as per HR) the actual job would be to lead/guide any team?
Thanks

I dont think most women who wax do it for men (directly or indirectly.) That being said I don't think the idea behind that campaign has any connection to "the pink tax" which is a real issue. I think they are just trying to cash in on an existing movement but fail to sufficiently tie their product/ brand to it. Distancing themself from the notion that it is for the benefit of men would be better angle "because I want to" or "it feels good" feels less forced and more true.
... is a pretty patriarchal/male-driven idea to begin with. I seem to be the only person thus far who thinks this is a terrible strategy. What say you fishies?
Grooming shouldn't be aligned with sexual preference. Keep them away from one another because conflating them positions it from a 'women as consumption' lens
Lol that is an awful idea. They’re basically calling out that the whole wax itself is a pink tax
They might as well put #SaveYourMoneyAndDontWaxYourVajay on the ads
Disclaimer. I don’t work on this account so don’t come at me for defending. If you search axthepinktax.com they have done a lot - it seems akin to (smaller scale) American Express being behind small business Saturday, no? Sure there are self fulfilling reasons and sure a credit card big corporation getting richer on back of small mom and pops while the same time benefiting from the Walmart’s of the world could be seen as an opportunistic. But now you see stickers on windows, you see small towns getting support. I see this as a brand that celebrates women, makes money off of women calling out how ridiculous women have to pay more. Just my counter point which did require more digging after one influencer post
I saw the website too! And I hear the counterpoints, like steps in the right direction are steps even when they’re self serving. It just seems like a lot of work to distract from the fact that waxing is still entrenched in the male view of what beauty should be. And whether someone waxes for themselves or for others, it’s still based on a culture created by straight men. I’m a woman who shaves, wears makeup, and is pretty feminine so I’m definitely a pot calling a kettle black! I just know that the trend in marketing is towards empowerment and this... even though I hate paying more for my *pink* Venus razor... felt icky.
So there are other companies who actually ax the pink tax in a legit way, like Boxed.com, who eats the tax themselves.
But in this case....don’t you pay service tax for the wax?
Seriously though, “female” branded products are significantly more expensive than the corresponding “male” equivalent. Neutrogena day cream is a perfect example.
I wish they’d cover the tax for you instead - for selfish reasons, obviously.
It’s lazy and dumb
LOL
Just so I understand OP. Is your issue that you think waxing is an activity driven by men, so harnessing a feminist movement like pink tax could wake people up to that, and undermine their whole business?
It’s not that it would “wake people up” but rather “seem disingenuous.” I originally saw the campaign from an influencer I liked, and I lost respect for her. I also have less interest in the brand... but that’s just my opinion, the campaign could be wildly successful throughout its flight for all I know!
