"Mistake"? Or fortunate accident?

All, it was a gif actually and at the end of the gif was a kiss. I didn’t see the gif completely before sending it. He didn’t respond to that and I immediately changed the subject. Also, didn’t wanna delete it in case he thought I was an idiot.. I AM AN IDIOT!! 🤦‍♀️

If it makes you feel any better, I once sent this gif to my boyfriend’s 89 year old grandma 👵🏻🥲 (I searched xoxo and clicked on this one accidentally). It happened over a year ago and I still want to cry when I think about it.

I did that to one of my male managers last week. I just followed it up with "ok...so that was not how I though that gif would go" he responded laughing and we moved on.

I definitely called in sick one time still drunk and said “k, love you, bye” in the voicemail. They called it the 3.2 flu (Oklahoma beer is only 3.2%)

I feel like this happens all the time. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Happened to me my first year. A manager was trying to type 401(k) and Skype turned out into a kissy face. I'm sure I've accidentally sent it to a couple of people as well.

Hi Fishes, I have an interview next week for a Client Partnerships Manager role at a large entertainment company. I've never actually done a role like this. The focus would be a client partner for Tech, QSR & Finance clients. Can you all provide any insight or tips into this role whether you've done it or partnered with someone who has. Also, what do you consider the media & marketing process to be? And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input.

A partner said on a client call that we really miss an associate I’m filling in for and that the team should be up to speed when she gets back. I can’t help feeling a bit slighted by that. I get that she’s much more senior (I’m a 1st year who started a couple of months ago) but I don’t think I’ve done a bad job at all. My first brief was spot on arguments wise and didn’t have much redlines. Am I reading too much into it? Should I check in with him to ask if he’s unhappy with my work?

I feel like I’m hitting a glass ceiling of sorts when it comes to representing clients at important events (ie, mediation, hearing, etc.). I’ll handle everything up until that point, but then I get the sense that the client wants the partner to step in and handle the big event. These same partners have told me they think I can handle it and would like for me to, but we ultimately have to meet the client’s expectations.

Client just scheduled a meeting for later today and sent a to do for me in preparation. We haven’t agreed on a meeting and we’re in theory on holidays until after NYE. What would you ladies do? A. Do it and not say anything? B. Do it, but write an email back that these things should be discussed in advance? C. Ignore it and write an email later saying I wasn’t online? I actually am home, but I just hate it that they always assume we’re working around the clock and never even bother asking.

Starting on Monday. Transactional. Super nervous and anxious. I’m considering doing two things: 1) keep an excel spreadsheet that has assignment due dates, client names, assigning partner, etc. and 2) keeping a hand written diary of mistakes that I make on various types of legal agreements, with the intention that I will check that diary for assignments to make sure I don’t repeat mistakes. Thoughts on this? Any tips, advice? Thanks!

I was offered a position at Deloitte for ~26k more than I’m making currently, but they told me that in 2.5 years when the contract is over I will be out of a job. Obviously I’ll be able to network within those two years and probably find something more permanent, so it’s very similar to gig work at BAH. I also just started a new project at BAH last month so I feel uneasy leaving after a month. Can someone at Deloitte give me more insight about PDM work at the company?

A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?

Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts - I’ve been really struggling to adjust to long-term WFH and just have been extremely unhappy with it (feelings of isolation, burnout, hopelessness). I feel like most of my daily joy used to come from live interaction with people. I know many of y’all are really thriving on WFH and need your help / thoughts on how best to adjust. TIA!!
