hey folks, I am going to join Oracle ossi in Hyderabad location. I have never been to Hyderabad, and will be relocating. Please guide on what would be good areas to look for rent. Also, what would be rent like for 2/3 bhk. Ideally my budget for rent would be <25k. Initially I will be going but in future my family will join me once I am settled. Any points to note or any other gotcha to keep in mind ? Please suggest.

Just make sure it is NOT a Tier 2 intra company transfer. Make sure it is a Tier 2 General. They are different visas. ICT are cheaper and most firms choose that because you can’t change jobs. I learned that they hard way.
Just to add to what C1 said about point 1, it depends on the employer. Some directly go for a 5- year visa. You can let them know that you want to be sponsored for 5 years. The only incentive for employers to sponsor a shorter duration visa, in my opinion, is the lower fees.
1. No, if your company knew you need visa sponsorship and they gave you offer, then you don't need to worry about it. 2. It's not hard at all. 3. Just check out the latest on gov.uk
Thank you!
Once you have the visa, it’s easy for companies to continue your sponsorship if you move roles
Message me - just went through this
I would love to know how you recruited in London while in the US!
Feel free to message me! Though long story short, it was a lot of networking and pain. And a couple of companies took me all the way to their 7/8th interview (the final round) and then rejected me using some canned reasoning, which reeks of “we need someone to start sooner and this guy needs a visa”

Wow didn’t know the RLMT got scrapped. I’m on a Tier 2, second London employer, and it was tough switching jobs because so many companies saw the visa switch as a stumbling block
Yeah it was all part of the migration from Tier 2 to SW — I think (though pls confirm) another rule that got scrapped was the 6-year limit on your time as a Tier 2 holder. I think the Skilled Worker visa is basically just infinite renewals, which makes ILR a lot less stressful I imagine
1 - not a battle, but they typically issue a 3 year visa and extend by 2 years
2 - not hard at all, nothing like the H1 in US (I used to work in the US)
3 - not sure
