Hi ladies!
I have my video interview with Liberty Mutual tomorrow for a licensed customer service role. Oddly, this morning I get an invitation to interview with Farmers for a claims customer service associate. I know the salary for the LM role, but not the Farmers role. Does anyone have experience with either? They are both great companies and I want to make sure I’m planting my feet with the right one. Thank you!Liberty Mutual Insurance Farmers Insurance Group
Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?

Is this your first job in insurance? It is overwhelming at first. The real only way to learn it is on the job training. You can also pursue different licenses if you like textbook learning and they will help you advance your career. Any good company will reimburse your education fees too. But on the job learning was the best in my experience. Stick with it and you will get more comfortable every day! Ask lots of questions when you are new. Takes notes and read the guidelines or procedures your company gives you. I’ve been doing this 7 years and not a month goes by I don’t learn something new. There is always more to learn in insurance. Be confident that you can do this! If you want you can make yourself a comfortable career in this industry. Find a mentor in your company if you can and learn as much as possible. Ideally ask another woman in your department with at least 5+ years of experience if they can career mentor you. I did this in my first insurance role and now years later, my mentor is my good friend and we provide each other job references anytime we need to. And someday in the future look out for young woman in the industry you can pay it forward to & always have each other’s backs!
I take lots and lots of notes. I constantly refer back to them too
