I recently was let go (in lieu of accepting my two weeks) and I should have received my March expense check by the end of April per the employment agreement (submitted the report April 1, let go before mid April). I have emailed HR but haven't heard anything. I've got a feeling someone at the top is putting a hold on it.

I have passed the CPA exam and am looking at getting the CFE. It seems like a lot of forensic/fraud positions are based in IT/programming or other computer based skills. Are there avenues in fraud/forensics that would be open to someone with my experience? If so, are there any skills/certs that I would need to be a desirable hire? TIA!

I started my firm recently (immigration) and am a true solo. I have experience in a few very specific case types and do lots of research, but don't have enough experience to easily strategize for each consult. I know this will come in time as I do more types of cases and have a background of knowledge to pull from, but I need to grow my business too. I think hiring a very capable paralegal would be the best option, but I'm paying myself 1k a week. I doubt I'd be able to pay an employee. Ideas?
