Just started teaching a new hire, and by working with/managing her, I may realized what kind of qualities my manager is looking for from me…. 1. Get the job done. 2. Have the ability to work on more 3. Don’t make stupid mistakes if the Previous work paper is easy to follow. Anyone have similar thought ?

Yes! Training new hires opened my eyes on my performance in the eyes of my superiors as well. I clearly see now what makes a good employee.
I would also add 4. Making an effort to figure out things on your own/solve an issue before just asking me without even trying

EY 1: Agree. And make sure you give them deadline to finish the work.

That sounds about right. Welcome to management.

Have you seen women wear ties and "masculine"-looking suits to work? Was it accepted by client and team? I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Does anyone have a boss or leader that nitpicks at everything you do, and also doesn’t recognize your work? Do they tend to have favorites? The people who recently seem to be incessantly saying they are "proud of Joe Biden as our leader" sound more cultish than anything MAGA. The facts just don't add up. Our current administration is a disaster. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are a disaster. Whataboutisms or ignorance wont change that. Trying to use emotional social issues as a mechanism to make people outraged isn't going to work anymore after what the country is enduring - economically most notably - with the current administration.

I have ~900k ultimate rewards points and am hoping to use them to take my wife and <6 month old somewhere for a week before Xmas. Because of the baby/covid we’re not too keen in traditional hotels and/or anything that offers higher risk. I’m also sure most hotels wouldn’t want a young baby at their establishment anyway. Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.
