Damn, talk about wrong career choice if you're already looking at leaving. Might as well go now
I started consulting with the same mentality. I wanted to leave industry, consult for a year, and then get back into industry at a higher position. Welp, I spent the first year learning to be a consultant so leaving before that would have been pointless. The second year I started getting the hang of things. The third year I was finally confident. If you’re in this job to learn and then move back to industry at a higher level, stick it out as long as you can! I’m 5 years in now and will only leave when our child is born
I .... just ..... (face palm) ...... what ARE you thinking? 🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️
You’re not alone OP
Had this same feeling when I started working 15 hour days on a regular basis (like 2 weeks after I started.) I’ve been here for over a year now and plan to make it to around 2 years before really reassessing. Definitely stick it out because I learned tons in my first year, despite having no life outside of work.
Unless you have a strong resume already built - 2 years minimum.
Why are you trying to move already? I don’t get it..
Who let the kids in?
Even if you have 10+ years of experience at reputable firms, if you stay at kpmg for less than a year it will raise questions
Start this evening
Oh and I thought you just started working (at 8 am) .. oops..
