Hi all,
I just came to realise Deutsche Bank has a fixed rule of max 30 to 35 % hike on fixed component and remaining 10 to 15% variable i.e. total 50% max hike you can ask for no matter how good, skilled you are.
Is it true?
(I got to know this when an HR called me for a Frontend developer role)

Can anyone recommend any firms in London who are hiring grads currently? I had signed up (contract n everything) with Accenture but was recently told that “we are completely full for 2022 and 2023” and I am happy to move somewhere else completely, instead of waiting 1.5+ years. My bio: Robotics engineer (BS) with a business Masters, and also a self-taught Data Analyst. Please help!

If you want to be a creative producer and bring knowledge and creativity to your job as a producer, study photography and film history. Animation history. Go to festivals and shows. Find your passions in the fine arts. You’ll be ahead your peers in no time. But please do not just learn the commercial and ad world. Find out what it is like to actually make something yourself..even a simple drawing, know how that feels.
Research great ads. (Or whatever it is you make.) reverse engineer what they do. Apply it to what you’re doing.
Creativity from a broad perspective is being problem-solver with creative solutions. Ex: people want you to do X. Instead of doing X, your solution is Y minus Z. Or finding a solution to a problem no one has thought about. That’s creative. It’s going against expectations.
There are so many ways to be creative. Like if you want to simply flex your creative muscles with a side hustle (many producers have them), I’ve found that the common barrier “non-creatives” share is that they overthink, get paralyzed and waste time not making. They think of creativity too much in an academic way (“What are the steps to take.. etc.”).
Creatives create because it hurts not to create.
We start out as beginners in kindergarten. Making shitty drawings/stories etc. And 15 years later we become pretty decent at whatever we started.
Late bloomers def have their place! This is just to illustrate that, to be creative, you need to stop thinking, and start making. Move forward, backwards, in circles, see projets come to life, die, resuscitate, matter, not matter... hear feedback from your peers. Not see it as criticism but as ways to improve. The best creatives actively seek feedback.
You mentioned your creative work wasn’t of the same caliber as creatives. You’re comparing yourself to people who have been creative for 15-20 years. It’s normal you’re not there yet! (See the Picasso napkin story)
Don’t beat yourself down if it’s not great. It’s necessary to make shit before you get better. Channel your inner 5 year old. Make make make.
you’re a PA. what is your end goal for your creativity? production problem solving? want to jump to creative?
Thank you for this response, I was seeing creativity in a very broad perspective, your explanation really brought it in a new light, thank you!

Excellent, thank you very much!
All of this is good advice. Also keep in mind it takes time, you’ll get there if you want it and actively train your brain to think that way.
