Just starting to look for a home for my parents who have never owned. This will be my second property and I live out of state. Any red flags I should know about remotely buying a house (and in NJ)? Also, at first blush a lot of the real estate agents seem to be doing real estate as a side hustle and/or are very young. I feel like I need someone a bit more dedicated or professional, any advice on finding someone like that?

Taaaaaaxes for the house will be insane. My parents in law taxes are almost quadruple what I pay in VA for a house three times the size of their home.

Unfortunately NJ has the highest property taxes in the US so it’s something to keep in mind for sure.

Expect continued tax increases for the property

What area of NJ? Taxes do vary from town to town, but it’s true they are quite high.

Bergen county

What are peoples current mortgage interest rates in the US and when did they start?

I'm from the UK and looking to move the US sometime soon with a view to buy and currently on a 1.4% interest rate on my UK property secured about 12 months ago for the next 5 years (so a good time to do it).

But seeing much higher interest rates mentioned on here so curious to get a temperature check on people's current deals.

Also I am thinking these ppl that are paying way above the asking price for some properties will lose once the value in some of these properties drop. That's just my 2 cents, curious to know yours.
