Newspapers aren’t much better, unfortunately. Any outrage and emotions simply becomes emotional prose.
That’s because you have inner monologue instead of actual sound.

I only consume Q drops - that’s the real news, everything else is a show
Is Q still dropping anything?
All news is propaganda.

Unironically yes. I have a close buddy who is Russian, and he said, “All news in some form is propaganda. And if you think you’re immune to it or above it, I guarantee someone writes something specifically targeting people like you.”

100% agree. Deleted all news feeds in 2019 and only consume news on WSJ, NYT, and WaPo for balanced right/left/center reporting. Did wonders for my headspace.

Most anything right of WSJ at this point is nonsense. National Review used to be decent-ish, but they’ve gone a bit loony since David French left.

Cable news from any political standpoint is toxic. Many local news affiliates are as well (e.g., ones owned by Sinclair).
Read a variety of reliable sources, ideally including the wire services, and mostly avoid the opinion sections.

Axios is the 🐐 for news
All cable news is 🗑 designed to maximize polarization and emotional outrage
That is fair and I agree with most of what you said here. I mostly trust WSJ and industry-specific publications myself, don’t have much more to recommend there unfortunately

If you’re taking your news from a newspaper or online article, ensure it’s not an opinion piece. If it is an opinion piece, look for citations from reputable sources to back up any claim and that the person giving their opinion is an expert in their field.

I still like The Economist. Very deep analysis and detailed articles. Also very clear what is an opinion piece.
