I accepted this position of being an administrative assistant at their firm and started to learn a lot of things that my major would cover. Taxing bonuses question - I was taxed on my bonus at 37% when my actual federal tax rate will be lower. I know they used the aggregate method to calculate tax but I don’t want them to and am fine with paying any additional tax in the spring. Anyone have any success getting them to change methods?

I’m an associate at a regional BigLaw firm in the Midwest. I’m in one of the smaller markets for my firm, and while salary is at the top of the local market, I do work for other higher-rate markets and bill BigLaw hours. My comp is roughly 20% of my annual billables, while comp for associates in larger markets is roughly 30% of annual billables. Am I getting screwed?
