ADHD Consultants

Just took my first dose of Vyvanse today. 50mg. Made me irritable and anxious but hyperfocused and quiet. Is this common with ADHD meds? Does this go away? I am miserable. Don’t like this. Unhappy.

Vyvanse was weird for me & I got off after a month or two. It made me feel focused but in a numb/robot way, and a bit anxious. Also, 50mg is a really high dosage to start. From researching forums, it seems like people who don’t feel great on vyvanse do better with adderall, and people who hate adderall love vyvanse. It is all terrible for you tbh. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right fit, but brutal mentally and physically the process to find the right meds.

I started at 10mg. Stayed on it until it stopped working then went up to 30. Same thing. Now it’s like a cup of coffee and I could fall sleep on 30. About to go up to 50mg. You should go to a lower dose. You might be ok with 10-30.

Agree. Try a lower dose. Also, you can try other meds. Some made me irritable and focused, but Concerta removed the irritability. I would only get anxious if I also drank coffee

OP is this ur first time taking Vyanse or anything similar? I feel that's a very heavy dose to start with. I started with Mydayis for months and had to move to Vyanse because I changed countries. even 30mg made me feel like a zombie, specially around my kid. I HATED that but eventually you will get used to the drug. I would strongly advise lowering the dosage unless your symptoms were bad enough for such a heavy dose.
