PSA. In today’s time, there really is no excuse to misspell a person’s name. Slow down. Pay attention. Treat every recipient of a communication as if they were a client. If I see or receive a communication where my name is not spelled incorrectly, I automatically judge your attention to detail.

Any stories of what happened AFTER you had to back out of some work because you were getting overwhelmed with what’s on your plate? I had to tell a partner I couldn’t help him with a training after initially agreeing because I was worn thin between two different deals. I’m fairly new to the firm so am a little concerned this is going to affect me reputationally, but figured it was better than blowing a client-related deadline. Fwiw he was nice about it and his training I think went fine.
