Took PTO to make it a four day weekend...first few hours back today and I already feel stressed out, anxious and like I want to quit. Burn out or just advertising?
My wife and I are considering planning a trip to Tulum, Mexico for late July. She’s slightly reserved in asking her employer (she works at a dental practice) if it’s okay to take time off with the concern her employer may feel off-put by the request. I personally hate the thought of someone else restricting my ability to make my own decisions, but also want to be contieous of others concerns as well. I feel at some point we all will be in a similar situation - to where we want to go do...
Going on vacation to Europe. Looking for comfortable shoes that won’t hurt from walking all day, don’t look ugly (with nice dresses/clothes), and can perhaps even be considered for wearing to nice places (eg dinner, bars). Probably asking for a lot here but please let me know suggestions! Don’t want to take 4 pairs of shoes for a one week trip 🙂
Non public accounting professionals, how much PTO do you get? And how hard/easy is it to take? (I.e., need formal approval far in advance, or can you decide last minute to take a couple days off any given week, etc)
How strict are state quarantine laws when traveling from out of state? I want to rent a house for a couple days for a weekend mini vacation but state says 14 day quarantine.
Dumb question but if I’m taking PTO Friday-Monday, is my end time at 12AM on that Monday or Tuesday on outlook?
My significant other has 15 days of use or lose time off by the end of year but she is afraid to use any of that time off as it might be perceived negatively at her company.. thoughts?
Just found out my mother is dying from cancer and does not have much longer to live. I took a week of PTO to help my dad. I can’t afford to take leave and my family thinks I should continue working. Has anyone gone through the same? How did it impact you? I told my team and they’re supportive, but I’m at a loss about how this will impact me professionally.
My wife has had complications with her pregnancy recently, so I've been taking advantage of my unlimited PTO to stay at the hospital. My boss has begun complaining that it's been too frequent and the team needs me. How do I balance being there for my wife and my team?
Have you ever had a situation when your doctor is on vacation or out of office and won’t send a prescription to your pharmacy for insulin? But you’re running out? Not due to financial hardship.
Curious what other people's parental leave looks like for companies of a similar size and industry. We are about 150 employees in the CPG (beverage) space. We want to improve/expand our paid leave. How much paid time do you give your employees? Do you give the same amount for the primary and secondary caregiver? Please include your company size and industry.
what actions will big4 take in the foreseeable future? EY will have a performance separation effect on 7/1. What else? Pay cut? Lay off? Or mandatory PTO?
Have any of you quit to take a break - 3 month or a 6 month sabbatical to pursue other interests or just to clear your head and figure out what’s next. How easy was it to find a job after the break and how did you manage your health insurance? Any other things to keep in mind when considering a sabbatical beyond money?
Is it advisable to move from Deloitte USDC to PWC tech advisory practice as an exit level manager with a considerable raise and joining bonus - as there would be no significant base hike or bonuses for the next two years? Thoughts or factors to consider
C at BCG and ~10 months from PL promo (fully on-track). Looking at a manager role at Shopify in their strategic finance department 1. Is this title too low? 2. Anyone know what comp looks like at Shopify? 3. Would you wait till promo and try again for something more senior, or would you jump now (not in love with the job at BCG, but don’t hate it either)?
Hello! I’m preparing for an interview, and I’d like to know what are some really good purpose driven brands. Any thoughts? I’d really appreciate the help 😊
I really want to take a few months off between jobs once I land my exit just for mental health / dealing with burnout. Has anyone tried to set a start date 3-4 months out from final offer and any tips to share? Specifically, this would be for big tech.
i swear all my work is to just fudge the deliverable to give the client or my boss the end result they want. our work is built on a piling hot bed of BS
Which companies besides Accenture is in an active recruiting cycle for Senior Analyst/Consultant level staff? I am 2 years in at my firm and looking for a change (mostly from the culture where I am)
I’m at the end of my rope. My AMD went on maternity leave a month ago and at this point, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to get a temp replacement. I’m expected to work up and put together plans for 2022 almost all on my own while taking time to train new AMPs and MPs. My director expects me to delegate to them when they have little to no background. I know I should probably start looking elsewhere but I feel like with the Great Resignation, it’s going to be the same anywhere else.

First year partner who has always been pretty straightforward with us says, based on what he’s seen, comp and bonuses will be, as good as, or better than ever during his tenure at the firm.
Can anyone tell me about vizient? Didn’t really know much about them but they’re offering me 33% raise in base from 150 to 200. Just randomly applied a few weeks back.
When you're the only girl on the team and the rest of the team votes Hooters for Friday lunch and your waitress ends up being 7 months pregnant ... Lololol 😂😂 #jokesonyouguys
How would you go about telling a company you don’t want to do anymore interviews? I was originally told probably two or three, then “one last one”, and now “potentially two more”. In each interview, they talk like I have the role and keep asking how much notice I would need to give as if they’re in a rush to get me in, but then schedule another round of interviews. Honestly the interviews seem more like meet and greets. Cont.
I grew up in a culture where we don’t tip. Although I do try to tip the appropriate amount now, it kills me a little every time I do it.
I think I made a faux pas during a discussion with a recruiter when asked what my salary expectations were. I KNOW not to give my number first but I was so caught off guard by the question since it was our initial discussion that I just blurted out a range. I’m afraid that I’ve now locked myself into a range with little room to negotiate if extended an offer. Any advice for how to proceed?
At EY , do you have to be there for a year before you can take the 16 weeks of parental leave or is it an immediate benefit?
