Just wanted to share my side-venture I've been working on the last 14 months.
Intro: FuelCred is a mobile app that automates the process of claiming your fuel tax credit
Background: You pay the federal government about 20 cents for every gallon of fuel that you purchase at the pump. But if you use fuel in off-road equipment in your business (e.g. a lawnmower for your landscaping business), this tax is 100% refundable!
Target Market: Landscapers, Farmers, Construction companies

Did you disclose this the kpmg? They can claim ownership of tech developed while an employee

like

I don’t work at KPMG anymore and yes it was disclosed

Have you done customer research? The farmers I know buy their fuel in bulk vs at the pump, plus they aren’t strong tech adopters so you may need to do a lot on the customer acquisition side

Yup. I grew up in a farming area and spoke to about 30 of them.

The ones that get fuel delivered are not our ideal customers. We’re targeting smaller farms.

Funny enough, buying bulk fuel is more expensive than going to the pump even if it’s tax free. You pay for the convenience.

But to your point, most of our users don’t get their gas delivered.

What sort of feedback are you looking for? I'll have a look and will get back to you.

Tips for 6-month eval? Originally hired at 35K as assistant and was told if I performed well, I could expect to make 50K after a year. After one week, the operations manager resigned and I took over as a trial. Officially am operations manager, but no title (only verbal) and no raise. Owner likes benefits over big pay raises. Thinking about asking for 46K, new cellphone and official title change. I'm expecting some negotiating, which I've never done. 24F, AA Bus Admin, and overall good employee
