Hi Fishes,

My sibling (from India) applied for Canadian Visa for study permit (2 years) and it was rejected stating the reason "the IRCC agent was not satisfied that the applicant would leave Canada at the end of their stay.
The intake was in Jan 2023.

Should we apply again? Has anyone ever experienced this and would appreciate if they can guide me? I'm really worried and emotionally tormented. Need urgent help.

Lady fish here, looking for help on packing SUPER light. I think my biggest issue is personal care type products. Any suggestions on combo products, containers or packing tips?

I'll be going on a 12 day trip & all my luggage has to be under 34 lbs. I'm using a 40L Blackhole bag and an 18L backpack. They do most laundry, so am thinking like 3 X socks and underwear etc & will wear my heaviest stuff during transport (eg hiking boots, heavier weight fleece). Will be carry on only.
TIA!!

Just got the verbal for a marketing manager role (w/ req. of a marketing director, which the Co. agreed & said it was related to current role headcount).

I genuinely believe (and have been told) there is growth room, I like them, & this is my first time working as an in-house corporate dynamic (10 years exp in NPO work, agency, and marketing consulting).

Offer was 130k with 10k signing bonus & generous retirement options in CA. Market research says it’s low-mid offer. Thoughts on the comp?

After two years of studying for the lsat, working, finishing up undergrad, going through a mental crisis or two and moving three times, I have decided to step away from the path of becoming an Immigration lawyer (I’m in my 30s). I’m mentally spent and already have a lot of undergrad debt. But I still really want to help in this area, especially assist refugees, asylum seekers, and working/advocating to change some laws if possible. I feel like this field/category is vast and complicated, so I…
