Just went to the vet for my cat and got hit with a $1000 bill 😭 How do people afford pets? Pet insurance is $25/month but has a $750 deductible and only covers 50% of bills.

Having a pet is having a car payment

Carecredit card was a life saver when my dog was sick. No interest charged for specific amounts of time 6-18 months.

Wtf did they do for $1k? Maybe try the vet at the Humane society or another shelter type place.

Vets have certainly learned their new profitability trade from the right people. If the vet has an app, they also have consultants creating policies with very high undeclared pricing.

Maybe shop for better plans? Mine is $30/month, 250 deductible and 80% reimbursement

Thanks A1! I use Lemonaid for home insurance so not sure if a referral would work, but am happy to try!

This is why I don’t understand the attachment to pets. Might as well just have a baby

A baby in nyc is way more expensive than a pet…

Like 10x at least factoring in sleep trainers, nannies, and any additional support required for 2 careerists trying to co-parent

My cat ended up at the ER due to an asthma attack and the bill was $2700. We can’t even get insurance anymore bc it’s now considered a pre existing condition 😭

Damn :(

B/c we already spend $10k/yr on doggy daycare… so may as well pay for his health.

Hey all,

My baby is measuring very big but doesn't seem to be coming on her own, so doctor wants to induce around my due date (I'm 39 weeks pregnant now).

Any risk factors I should take into consideration? Things I should make sure to bring up with my doctor ahead of time? This is my first baby.
