So, I just came across this job description for an Senior Financial Accounting Advisory role with Embark. Don't know much about the firm but I'm currently in FAAS and unless EY plans on getting pay at least sniffing these amounts then I'm out. Big 4 or not with the rise in costs that type of salary is hard to pass up especially if I'm doing similar work getting paid significantly less.
Partners, at B4 I’ve heard that after 10 years you become fully vested in the partnership. What all does that mean with regards to shares / other benefits (vs. say a 9-year partner)? Thanks!
Advice needed. Got a job offer from my dream company, 15k bump in salary, stock options, large jump in PTO, 40 hour work week and way better healthcare. So all in all a better opportunity. I feel guilty leaving my Big 4 job during this time. New company said I can take a month to wrap up some work at my current job if needed. Leaving now would leave my team drastically short staffed for the fall. New hires pushed till 1/1/21. Should I feel guilty? How do I tell them and not burn bridges?
For those who switched from Big 4 consulting to McKinsey, how many years of experience are recommend for the transformation associate role. (Undergrad degree only) McKinsey & Company
Hi! I work in an OIG. What other roles within the government would be an easy transition from auditing, as a 13? For background I worked as a manager at a Big 4 in Risk/Internal Controls and a smaller firm auditing contracts and grants.
Switching between big 4. If I'm able to apply for transfer before Sept 11, what's the expected time it takes for transfer to be completed?
RSM has an Ownership presentation that's available to all managers and above. actually gives transparency about partner admittance process and compensation. other firms should follow suit if they don't (I was an SM at big 4 and could never find any info)
Anyone from KPMG willing to refer? I’m ex-B4 and looking to get back to consulting. Happy to walk you through my resume.
Have offers from Firm A (5k employees 1B revenue) & Firm B (2k employees 200M revenue) to come in as a senior manager and create/build a new, niche tax practice similar to what I played a pivotal role in building at a B4. My biggest issue at B4 has been the big firm BS (hard to get things approved, slow moving, high performers not rewarded appropriately). What’s the right balance between the resources/client base of a larger firm and the autonomy/pay of a smaller firm? How small is too small?
My wife is approached by a B4 consulting firm and she is really keen on being in consulting since her college days. But we have a 15 month old and she is in a fix if it’s possible for both of us to be consultants post covid world while taking care of our son. I’m supportive of her career move, but I don’t know any consultant couple w kids. Would appreciate if anybody has any words of advice if it’s doable and what can we expect if my wife becomes a consultant.
Hi Bowl, Need your help. My sister got post graduated from Edinburgh Business School. She completed her MBA and is struggling to find job in UK market. Just wanted to know how she can apply to companies that are willing to sponsor visa. Is there any website where such kind of jobs are posted? Also, does BiG 4 advisory services or S&O sponsor visa as these are the two domains she is aiming currently.
Does anyone have experience being hired for a Big 4 or consulting firms in general as an “experienced” professional? I have worked in the healthcare industry for the past 10 years and am interested in moving into a consulting role…any tips of how to get started or what type of roles to apply for? I feel like I’m over qualified for an Analyst role but would that be where I would need to get started and work my way up? Thanks
Is it almost a given that if you been at a big 4 for two years, and you were to leave, that you can get hired on at a smaller firm?

So what are you replacing your SPG card with?
You know you've become too obsessive when the last thing you think about before going to bed is the set of slide headlines you just wrote.
"On your plate, capacity, high level, circle back" I just heard a friend of mine use these in a social setting. I need new friends. :(
Any suggestions what to tell my manager when she wakes up tomorrow morning and sees me sleeping next to her?

Consulting gods, please let my flight be cancelled so I can pitch working from home for another week...
6 segments needed in addition to travel I already have planned for the rest of the year to make it to Diamond on Delta... Is it worth it?
When you're drunk on a plane talking about how big time of a consultant you are and then you whip out a blackberry.........
Delta or American? Why?
When you live in NYC and love how everything is almost as easy as living in a hotel. Not sure how the rest of you do it.
What are the essentials to know for new consultants just getting used to the traveling thing?
Pretty sure my doorman thinks I'm an escort. I get dropped off in a fancy car at 1am wearing nice clothing :o
