Just left DoD civ life and started my new position this week. Let me tell you, breath of fresh air (figuratively and literally, spent 12 years working in a windowless vault). Leaving govt civilian was definitely the right choice. Already feel like my quality of life has improved. Was scared to make the jump at first but I fortunately landed with a great team. A partner put me in charge of a specific project that I ran independently. Things were going well. The client began asking me to do more and more, including revamping their system and internal trainings. The client even gave me a litigation matter. Suddenly, the partner became more involved. I was removed from meetings concerning the revamping, my trainings were cancelled, and he started micromanaging. He has now sidelined me from the project and trash talked me to the client. I am very upset.

This might be inappropriate but how often are the rest of you having sex with your significant other or spouse? We have little kids and I work 75 hours a week so I am lucky to hook up twice a week and even that is tough to schedule. My wife takes it personally if I am not all over her so I try to make an effort even when I am dead tired. But honestly lately I have been dreaming of a sexless marriage and anything else that will take some of the pressure off me.
