So we just got the 2nd email in 2 mos from HR telling us to “look presentable” and to be “completely available” during work hours. In what world are they living? Is it harassment if I tell them to go F themselves?

Has anybody ever had lateral anxiety? I’m at a below market Amlaw 100 and am lateraling to a market firm. I like the firm I’m currently at but really want to make market pay. I’m confident the firm and group I’m moving to are also cool, but still feeling a little anxious. Wondering if others have felt this way before.
Start up raised their series A in June, when giving an offer, should it offer equity post money or pre money? Thank you

Book recommendations: Hi 🐠, can you all recommend a few books that can help me learn a little about the following topics?
- How to go about ideating a new line of service or product? (Understanding market needs and viability of the product, designing/scoping the product, etc)
- How to define a business case for funding an idea?
- How to launch a product and/or a startup?
Starting a Strategy role and would like to use the down time to prepare. Open to other books on strategy concepts as well :)

Apologies if this has been answered in a prior post. Why does EY not let you people expense lunch? Wouldn’t it make more sense to allow a single $ amount for all meal expenses / day!? I’m shook

My experience of consulting
Does Strategy& pay the most of all the T2s these days at the manager level? Recruiter was saying 215-217 base and up to 50% bonus? I think LEK and Kearney are up there as well… BCG pays more than Strategy& at the manager level? Thanks! I tried to do a ton of searching and came across dated threads, prior to a bunch of market adjustments across the firms

Folks, any advice on applying for jobs at a previous client? As a firm we have great relationships with the senior client leadership and I am afraid that the GEP and my RL will eventually find out when I submit my job application. On the other hand, if I tell my RL prior to applying, I will probably end up towards the top of “people to be laid off” list.
Book recs? I love reading self-help books but sometimes they bore me. Any good fiction series out there that can get me reading more often?
Interested to see other people’s thoughts here: I find it a massive personal and professional turn off to find out that someone is cheating on their SO. Something about that makes me question their integrity, and further doubt how they would respond to other situations that were morally or ethically fraught, especially in the workplace.

Ya. Juul is even more addicting and wonderful than smoking because there is zero smell, it fits in your pocket and is just overall divine. I love Juul and miss it often.
I tried everything from the patch, the lozenges, cold turkey, etc over the 14 years. What finally worked was changing my mindset and my environment. Try to get out of the house for 2-3 weeks and go on vacation, use the lozenges the first week to help with the cravings. Substitute sunshine, yoga, kayaking, family, and anything else that keeps you busy to distract your brain. Stay away from triggers like alcohol, coffee, emails and zoom meetings (my triggers). Have a candy or something to always occupying your tongue, and get the quit go soft tip inhaler. Maybe even a fidget spinner.
Throw away the stash and stay strong even after you get home.
Mindset. Once I heard and realized: "quitting smoking is 99% mental and 1% physical, that's why you don't wake up from your sleep to smoke". That helped me power through.
You can do this OP! 💪🏼 stay strong.
Never used a Juul, but I did smoke for 20 years. When I decided it was time to quit I used Chantix. It got to the point where I lost interest in smoking as I progressed using the meds. 12 years later and I am still smoke free.
It should work for a Juul as well since it blocks the nicotine receptors in the brain.
Avoid nicotine patches at all costs.
You are merely replacing one nicotine source for another and not defeating the addiction.
