Had an hour-long screening call with Lyft HR on a Friday pm. Sent a TY note the next day (Saturday) with work samples that addressed some of the points/needs discussed during the call, noting I’d wait to hear more after Wednesday (of last week, when she would connect with the hiring manager to determine who would be interviewing/moving on to the next round). No reply to that Saturday email + nothing since. Should I check in? Do I just wait? Want to convey interest but don’t want to annoy.

@kpmg1 great advice that o wish I had when I applied. I had a 740 gmat and good recs and a good interview, but my business plan essay was not personal. Got a note that I was in the table for the final decisions and didn’t make it. I was allowed to reapply once I figured out that part. Redid the essay and applied again and got in. So yeah, personal essays are key
It was the business plan question, how would I use the mba that I was just too vague on. I don’t remember the details, but I put in something mushy about being a better leader. When I resubmitted it was focused on my passion for not-for-profit work. How I could see myself doing x,y,z if I had particular skills and exposure that Kellogg could provide. It was very personal and pipe dream, and it did not come to pass, but people could relate and it was focused because I was passionate about the subject. Hope that is helpful
I thought 3 recommendations were required? Admissions will say all 5 or so components of your application are equally weighted, but I think recommendations, your essays and ultimately the interview are the biggest influencers after you pass the quantitative thresholds in GPA and test scores. Essays need to be very personal, ideally unique, and from the heart. Admissions people are human so you want an emotional response. No clue on firm sponsorship utility but I don't see why that would matter if you look like you can pay.
It helpful, this is for EMBA Do you know if you have to be at KPMG for a certain period of time before they will sponsor?
For KPMG, not sure about how long to be sponsored but think it's only strategy / DA that will sponsor
@SM1, can you provide any additional advice besides being personal? Subject matter? Generalities versus single story?
