I did keratin for a few years. It got my hair pretty smooth and removed a lot of curl. That said, it is still hard on your hair (chemicals) and will change your hair long term. Once you do one you have to keep getting them every 4-6 months. I had to basically grow out my hair completely to get my normal curls back.
I did a keratin treatment and it definitely made it smoother (no flyaways) but didn't straighten it. My curls came back all at once, just a little less frizzy and easier to straighten.
EY1- how did it change your hair long term?
Also have done Keratin a few times (actually getting it done tomorrow!). I get the Cezanne done, which gets rid of frizz and just slightly toned down curls. The main difference I found was if you use heat, your hair magically just straightens without much effort (like finger combing straightens it)...when I let it air dry, it’s curly as ever. Have never done Brazilian, as I don’t want to use a product with formaldehyde in it & also look terrible with totally straight hair
My curl structure was changed. My curls were a lot looser permanently but it kinda looked weird so I almost had to straighten it to make my hair look normal. I noticed it more when I started to grow my hair out and could see the new part was much curlier than the ends
Has anyone heard of / tried Cezane? Heard it doesn’t have formaldehyde (not sure)?
