Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake
Something similar to the digital classroom support specialist or tech help desk would be great. I consider myself tech savvy

Coming out of such an engagement with minimal scars. Few things I did:
1. Set expectations with them that this is the output you expect and don’t lower your standards.
2. Give lot of feedback and train them. If they get a slide or a model wrong, sit with them and make them do corrections till they get it right. It’s exhausting initially but you will see the investment being paid off within a few days
3. Do the thinking part and give them more execution tasks and once they start getting comfortable, give them the thinking parts as well
4. Be kind - we were all in that spot once so showing that you understand and mistakes are okay (the first time) will go a long way in building trust and them coming to speed.
5. Tell them to escalate quickly. Worst thing is when they sit with something for 2 days because they were scared to ask you. The rhythm will help you manage upward.
You got this OP! Good luck :)
And make this work?
Multiple escalations to staff seniors and experienced folks have fallen on deaf ears 😳
It’s a boutique consulting firm btw ! So staffing is a struggle
Well, I’d start with making a brief schedule so you can track that you’re on target. Then see what you can hand off and buckle down and do the rest. Delegate more than you think you should because these two need to learn too and you cannot do it all.
Pray there’s a lord then pray he likes you.. Youngins come less and less hungrier by the minute 🤷🏽♂️
See what they’re capable of doing and have them do that!
