As a European living in the US, I struggle to understand how people don’t see the correlation between zero gun regulations and mass shouting. No other country in the world has similar problems, and guess what? They all have more strict laws on guns.
Can we agree we have enough data to propose an obvious recommendation? How can this topic have a political connotation?
European living in USA - I get its part of the culture but it’s ridiculous that we consistently circle the drain on this problem. Background checks, gun safety course requirements, age limits etc. It’s just too easy to kill kids rn

Make parents criminally liable for mass shootings caused by their children (of any age).
Since we clearly can’t stop these from happening, we just need to make the punishment far more significant.
K1 - don’t forget the racially motivated Waukesha terrorist who mowed down several people, including children and the elderly, with his car during a Christmas parade!!

Know what would be just like... so rad? If the rabidly pro-life people did SOMETHING to stop the unyielding onslaught of domestic terrorism. Because constantly saying "gun laws wouldn't have stopped this" and spending time policing trans kids' parents and the bodies of people with uteruses is doing less than nothing to prevent this from being the routine occurrence that it is. Oh and I also own guns, in case you want to keep pretending that's a requirement for an opinion to matter on the subject.
Actually D2, we were talking about a specific topic so any statement made would have reflected the topic of discussion. You decided to take it outside of the topic in an attempt to misdirect.

18 is the legal age in Texas and most of the country. Stop spewing incorrect statements to meet a political agenda. This is why we can’t fix anything.

Well well well. It’s appears I was correct regarding Ramos.
This is coming from the State senator that was voting against gun control to “Own the liberal tyrannist”
Crazy how he could buy two assault rifles before legally buying beer at a bar.
I’ll bite. Fewer guns = fewer guns available for school shootings
P1 - many are obviously stolen but I don’t think the number is as high as many believe. Many coke across the border and more and more they are being made now via 3D printing or put together (zipper gun). Others include strawman and of course at shows (~.8%). Majority are black market which I’m sure a good portion of those are stolen.
There have also been numerous military, police and others that have managed to move large quantities into the US. Not clue what those numbers are but know it happens and there have been arrests from former NYPD to military in the news.

…the law of no guns? LOL.
In Canada it’s really rare (compared to states) to have a gun shooting. Hence our laws would have prevented this better. It won’t be a 0% but it’ll be less than what you guys are dealing with right now.
He bought the guns legally. And if that’s true, why does the pro-life party consistently refuse to support mental health funding?

What?? He bought the guns legally. Texas lowered the age requirement to 18 a few years ago.
He bought them legally…”Ramos's social media was full of photos of guns, which he bought legally on his 18th birthday, state senator Roland Gutierrez said.”
So who is thinking of moving to another country? The U.S. is now out of control
Move to California. It’s expensive but worth your life.
Drunk drivers killed 11,654 people in 2020. I think we should ban cars or maybe alcohol.
Chief
KPMG’s argument got absolutely destroyed
We have more restrictions on buying cough medicine than we do on buying guns in some states 🤯

Okay SM1. Name them
Many countries (similar gov system with US) with very strict gun laws or have ban guns from public entirely do not have this massive shooting problem. Guns in US are very easy to get legally OR illegally.
“Guns aren’t the problem” - Fox News
I’ve seen someone already ask “did he illegally cross the border”. Scum doesn’t even begin to cover it smh.
How did he get a gun then? It should be difficult to get a gun and there should be strictly enforced laws on keeping them locked in safes. The less guns floating around freely, the harder it will be to obtain them illegally.
C6 - data supports number 1. Ironically when I was in post grad I worked with a video game research company. We did a research project for Blizzard on this topic as well as blood in video games increases engagement. Neither were true based on quantitative measures. And agree the third is comical at best. There’s no evidence illegals are running around shooting people. Data supports it’s typically white males (I am one). Hard to hear that but that’s where the data takes us
If you claim a child or young person as a dependent, and they commit a crime like this, hold them criminally responsible.
That is happening by me. Somehow this school shooting got almost no national attention - as we are all so desensitized to it. https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2022/05/24/parents-of-suspected-oxford-school-shooter-claim-they-cant-get-fair-trial-in-oakland-county-request-move/
Parents have guns
No need to post his pic.
He wasn’t legally allowed to buy a handgun because he’s not 21…
No you can’t. Try Google. You can buy a rifle at 18 not a handgun.
