Can somebody please tell me the difference between these designations:
Specialist
Senior specialist
Senior software engineer.
I have recently joined and it shows my designation is senior software engineer. I have seen some people's designation as specialist frontend developer and so on. Will they add a specialist to my designation also? If not, what is the criteria and when can somebody be called a specialist? Larsen & Toubro Capgemini Infosys Wipro Mindtree Cognizant

Hey it’s going to be okay. I am new is FDD as well on my third month and most times I feel hopeless. Others on my team have reassured me by saying you really start catching on 6-12 months in. Most important thing for me is not spinning my wheels and raising my hand when I don’t know how to do something. I think mgmt appreciates that I am not wasting my time, or theirs.

Appreciate it!
MM (A&M, FTI, HL) firm busy rn - 8 am to 9 pm straight billable
But I know plenty who aren’t - just economy right now isn’t good
FDD has a tough learning curve but after that it’s pretty much regurgitating the same analysis deal after deal
Yea, it’s strange. The first year was like drinking from a fire hose. By the time I left, I feel like the work was pretty easy, just time demanding.

Trying to figure out what I’m doing for my own work and just feel overwhelmed like a failure. I missed a stupid check on a tab I pulled numbers from but I trusted the other persons work and just feel stupid and like a failure
Also not sure why I’m a coach idk shit. Thanks folks
I’m an SM - been around a long time. You’ve been here 4 months; you don’t have to say anything and we know you have no idea what you’re doing. You’re learning. We all did. If I were the SM in this position, you wouldn’t have let me down at all - that’s an expectation for now that you’re still learning how to even use check figures let alone get it right all the time. Try to let yourself off the hook - the rest of us are. Btw - I’m a high performing deal lead and am also on the bench - don’t let it get to you. Things are weird right now.

You joined during bad market. Since the deal flow is slowing down, inexperienced folks are not getting staffed as before.
Yes, it’s not abnormal for a senior to screw up. When you come across a mistake/issue/something confusing, be sure to just flag it and bring it up to your senior/manager/director in a relatively timely manner. Frankly, they’re not going to expect a new associate to fix an error that a senior was capable of making. Try not to stress too much; we’re all human
2 months on the bench? Damn why was that
