Has anyone had to defend themselves at their firm when coming back from maternity leave? My firm decided to hire an associate (male married with no kids) instead of a per diem to cover my cases.

Landed a good offer from a company but I think I can do better. Asked for a signing bonus but they refused. Got a similar offer from a company I am not as excited about and I am using it as a leverage but still refused. What else I can do?

Thinking about going to my current manager and ask him to match the offer and if so come back with that to the current recruiter.

Any more ideas?

Switched over from PwC audit to FAAS last August (A2 to S1). WLB has been great but feeling career development has taken a big hit. Admin heavy and not challenging work. Don’t feel like I have been given an opportunity from the start start. Advice is welcomed : exit opps, who to talk with , etc.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
