KPMG folks - question regarding onboarding. Is KPMG Launch @ Lakehouse worth attending in person? Is this specific to the group I’m joining or broader firmwide?

Always onboard in person given the opportunity. There are some things about work culture that can only been seen/ felt through direct experience.
Enjoy and congrats!

Go in person! As with most of these events, the content is probably forgettable but it’s a great time to meet a ton of people and start to get integrated and feel at home.
This was always the case when you’re just starting off at a firm, but maybe more important now with so much WFH - as before you were usually guaranteed the chance to build your network naturally from colocating on projects etc. and now that’s less certain / will come slower.
My team and I went two weeks ago. The consensus on our team (both in person and virtual participants) was that it was much more worthwhile to go in person. The experience at Lakehouse was great.
It’s awesome. Book your spot ASAP
In person if you can. Not KPMG, but my understanding is that it’s similar to St Charles for ACN (which I did in person Pre-Covid).
Absolutely worth it, met some amazing people there that I would not have had the opportunity to otherwise (different regions/states etc all brought together there)
Thanks all. Am I likely to meet people from my group at the event (as opposed to other service lines)?
You’ll meet some - but also keep in mind the firm has a lot of cross sell metrics, so good to make relationships outside of just your service
