Controversial: Work-Life Balance Is Overrated.
Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

Think about your long term career. You went to MBA to accelerate your career. McK will accelerate your career and in the long term the $200k won’t matter with a brand like McK.
If you plan to just take a chill job in 2 years anyway (less prestigious non-FAANG) then KPMG makes sense.

Make it make sense OP.
Yes, McK offers more prestige. But don’t make this decision solely on prestige. Similar to another reply here, how do you like KPMG culturally? Are you happy with WLB? Are you happy with the work you’re doing....your clients? The difference between 185 and 200 isn’t that large to potentially have to pay back your MBA tuition to KPMG if you leave.
If I were you and currently happy /content with being at KPMG, I’d take their M offer at 185 and stay at least until your probational period is over with the MBA payback. Consider McK later if that’s where you truly want to be at
Do you have to pay back KPMG if you don’t join them? Even if you are forced to pay, if I were you, I would take a loan and join Mck

I have a bachelors. How does a MBA get paid that much?
Similar to other posts figure out the payback and how long you want to stay in consulting. Did KPMG pay $200k post-tax or just cover tuition costs which equals about $200k pre tax? You can make back the $200k in 3 years if the latter otherwise that would have big impact on pay back period. Also even if top exists are similar between the 2 it will be a lot easier and you'll have more options from McK
