Nordstrom has free styling appointments - highly recommend. I have done it a few times, especially after I had both my babies so I knew how to dress my new / different shape. Zero pressure to buy, and great to try different things and get a lite education along the way

I have heard good things about them!

I don't, just looked up my body shape and what attire is flattering (because it's different for different body types), and I try to only buy those types of clothes and only wear a handful of colors/minimal patterns because it makes mixing and matching a lot easier every day.

This is just one random article, but articles like this helped me get an idea of things to wear for my shape and what's not flattering. There are a million articles online for free focused on high level overview of the different general shapes as well as articles devoted to just the body shape you're interested in.

I find inspo on tik tok and by walking the streets of nyc honestly. I have a very unique body type (5’11 35” inseam, slim thickish, hip dips with slight hourglass, broadish shoulders, 34ddd boobs, longgg arms) and have never really come across anyone that I go wow they’re built like me lol. For me it’s about trial and error and knowing what has worked on me in the past. I look at trends and incorporate some of them but at the end of the day It’s also about wearing what YOU like and not what others say you’re supposed to wear!
I’m in the same boat OP. You’re not alone. I’m thinking I’ll try SD1’s approach!

Nope. I buy an excessive amount of clothing and don’t end up wearing half of it once I realize it doesn’t look good on me. Would not recommend this approach.

I have worked with a professional stylist and yes, it was worth it. Not even that expensive tbh. Think about how much effort you put into your job. They do the same with theirs :-) it’s another level than just googling, especially if you don’t have the time or eye for it.
Edit: sorry I meant googling not giggling!

Actually I worked with this gal: https://instagram.com/bristylesyou?igshid=ZDg1NjBiNjg=
She used to be in the corporate world. She works virtually and in person now. She is not like a celeb stylist type. She works with all kinds of real women. She has an excellent understanding of how to look current but also be yourself and wear what works for your personal style and body. Highly recommend!

My plan is to get with a stylist next year because I’ve never been able to know exactly what to buy for me. Not just shape but how to pull together an outfit, how to style it, etc. And I don’t want to spend hours on Instagram watching clips to figure it out.
I want someone to go through my closet tell me what’s good and not good. Then help me learn fabrics that are quality & help me purchase somewhat of a basic everyday wardrobe with some flare and fun outfits as well. The whole shebang

I love styling my friends - I’d love to help if you like. I don’t have any professional experience. I’m a size 12/14, rectangle shape!
