Wwyd? I switched to industry working for a director who seems to be hierarchical driven. For example, if I need info from a director in another group, he will insist on reaching out to them & cc’ing me. This doesn’t seem to occur with my peers & their directors in other groups. It’s frustrating going from an environment where folks of all levels are encouraged to partner & speak directly to executives to get their work done, to this environment. Has anyone overcome this? I have a huge problem with being criticized or anything that looks like it may be approaching conflict. I avoid doing/saying/sharing things and sometimes lie to avoid this happening, and I’ve been doing so more and more. It’s starting to make a mess of my marriage. Anyone gone through this?
