I'm leaving for Bschool soon and have unused vacation days. Do I get paid for these (as a portion of salary)?
I feel so stuck in my life (28F). I just want to find my person and start building a life together. I feel like I have nothing to look forward to. I just want to create holiday memories with my new family and instead, I’m looking at another season with my dysfunctional as hell family. I know a negative attitude and comparing myself to others isn’t helping me, but I can’t seem to lift myself out of my funk…
"Almost 40% of millennials work every day of their vacation" No offense but that's just f#*$ing stupid. Stop that.
I’m a mid level lit associate. Headed out on a vacation tomorrow and feeling guilty leaving my case team behind who are all drowning. I know vacations need to be respected, but is it ok to feel this way?
Best holiday cocktail?
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Kicking off a week of PTO with moving. Never thought this day would come so early, taking PTO to *adult*
What’s the best holiday present you’ve gotten for your parents? Thinking thoughtful and reasonable
What do you do when you legitimately have run out of PTO because you’re sick a lot? I take prescribed medication that weakens my immune system but don’t want to explain that if I can avoid it.
Any tips on managing, avoiding or reducing tolerance besides “use less” or “take time off?”. Taking magnesium daily based on anecdotal evidence it helps.
I just wanna talk about my PTO 😭😭
What percentage of your day are y’all productively working? Lately I’ve been super distracted on my phone, personal email, holiday plans, posting about all the above on fishbowl, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s just me.
Just got an offer at another agency that requests I start the second week of January, and now I'm faced with notifying my boss the day before people leave for the holiday break. Help.
PwC 🐟 my rewards summary page shows I have holiday balance of 8 hours. This means that I messed up and didn't charge holiday hours properly last year right? How can I best use this 8 hours now? Cont.
Vacation ideas? Keep in mind I'm poor
Any former Slalom 🐠 know whether unused PTO is paid out when you leave? I assume yes but don’t wanna ask and reveal myself as on the way out lol. Thx
Does anyone else find it ridiculous that firms require a minimum daily time entry? For example, my firm requires us to bill 6 hours a day, whether or not it’s billable work, we have to have a minimum of 6.0 in our time entry system every day or we get flagged. If we’re on vacation we have to pre-bill 6.0 a day. Why the hell do firms do this???
Any restrictions on baggage allowance if you book your ticket with reward miles for American ? I am platinum. Just learnt last week that upgrade was not possible because I booked through points.
I currently work in a HCOL (LA) and have decided that this summer I want to move to a MCOL (Chicago) that isn't an office location for my team. Am I right to wait until after YE comp discussions (end of Q1) before raising this with my company? We don't have published comp bands and I know there is some pay disparity between the two locations. I want to make sure I am getting what I deserve bonus/raise and then negotiate any pay difference after
Supply chain Folks. I have a friend who is looking to get back to work after maternity hiatus of a few years. She was a buyer. She wants to pursue CSCP. Will it help her chances of landing a job? Tks!
Received a job offer at a consulting firm as a data analytics consultant for $20k more than I am making now. I am torn on taking the job offer because my manager told me I was getting promoted at the end of the year to a data analyst. I am not sure what the salary range for a data analyst is at my current job. Should I take the job or wait it out to see what my end of year raise would look like? I really like my job and team so leaving would be tough, but this raise is something to consider.
I took my first sick day at my new job. I am back today now some people are barely talking to me. Barely anyone asked if I am doing better. I find it a bit strange. I'm not expecting much but not even a fake pretend to care that I am doing better. My other jobs were not like this. This is more a vent than anything.
5300 Wells Fargo employees fired for creating millions of phony accounts. Proud day at WF 🙄
TAS Manager salary? Mid sized firm accounting firm? Is 150K a reasonable base? What does bonus structure look like?

Hello! I’m close to negotiating my first salary since leaving my old job and wanted to see if anyone is willing to share a salary range for Workday HRIS Consultant in a mid cost of living area?
Have received majority critical feedback in the first few weeks on my new role. A few “thanks yous” & “good job” but that’s it. Should I be concerned??
Thinking of relocating out of the Chicago area to begin to subtle down. Does anyone have recommendations on states/areas to move to for cloud engineers/consultant that work from home?
Hi all pls help me with my salary breakdown. Does FBP mean variable pay or does the whole salary comes under fixed?
What lifetime status at hotel/airline do you have? What’s your favorite perk? I love the 75% bonus points I get with Marriott that allows me to book better properties on vacation
What agencies would hire management consultants? A little stifled after all these years at a Big 4 and want to be in a creative environment
For the CFE, did you do anything in addition to the ACFE prep course? The course is just practice questions, so I’m wondering where I can actually learn the information first before that.
Help! Just learned that my parents (54 and 56) only have ~100k in their retirement account. Their house is currently worth ~800k with ~450k left to pay on the mortgage. Their income is ~200k combined. They insist that they’ll have enough to retire on with social security and after selling the house. However, I have a hard time believing this since the max monthly social security payout is ~3k per person which doesn’t even get close to the 70-80% replacement ratio. How screwed are they really?
