Ladies - how do you make friends as you get older? My social circle has diminished over the years as people have gotten married, have kids and move to the suburbs. Single 48 here. Very difficult without children. Best way is through religious org or team sport.

I am 48 and single too and it is tough without kids. Honestly I find that colleagues from past jobs, neighbors and friends of friends have become my social circle, especially after my divorce a few years ago. I joined a book club in my neighborhood with other women and that has helped l. I know it is cliche, but a common interest helps. People tell me finding a Meet Up group helps too, but I haven’t tried that yet.

As you grow and evolve your friend groups will evolve too. It’s growing pains but you’ll end up aligning with women with similar circumstances. They’re all just going through the same growing pains as you right now. But they are out there! Sending well wishes as you navigate adding new friends.

And by that I don’t mean like just commenting on here but maybe having a group video chat or something for anyone interested that has commented. If people don’t bond, we never talk again 😂 if we do then yay!

I have met other mature women through a church bible study, a book club, and playing pickleball at local parks. My husband as a retiree in a new city has met many male & females playing pickleball.

Get a dog. Make friends with fellow dog owners. Making friends after a point is tough but you’ll eventually meet like minded people through similar hobbies. Join clubs according to your hobby and don’t be afraid to make the first move.

What type of friends are you looking for? Someone you talk with everyday and talk about stuff. Or friends who you chat with once in a while to chat about this and that. Finding someone to talk with everyday might be challenging unless they are single too. But if it’s just once in a while to catch up I’m sure that’s not as hard to find and maintain

What location op?

Houston is especially tough for this I think, people from there tend to settle down very early. I lived there and got out (for this reason among many others), moved to a more urban city, and am so much happier - think big city lifestyle is more conducive to being single longer

I moved to a different country 2 years ago. I was scared at first that I will be alone. I love hiking so I joined clubs/ Facebook groups / meetup events and eventually met many people of similar interests who became my good friends. I feel like as we get older it’s hard to maintain friendship unless you have similar hobbies /interests. Although it may be hard now given the circumstances. Perhaps join clubs that you are interested in that are doing zoom meetings ?

Similar position - interested to hear what has worked for others. Keen to make new friends, though not sure how to do that especially at the moment

I think it just gets harder for everyone as we get older. I am 50 and can honestly say I have zero friends. I have acquaintances because I have a 6 year old son, but I can't relate to his friends' parents because they are the same age as our older kids. Had the same issue when our older kids were little because we were by far the youngest parents, and struggling financially. I've recently signed up for Bumble BFF but nothing is interesting to me yet. I'm not an introvert, but I think this just might be how it is from here on out.

I’ve signed up for bumble bff but same - haven’t matched with gals that I feel are on the same page, & I’m starting to get to the point where I’m just too tired to put energy into people and situations that may not add value to my life

Does anyone know what can be done for erroneous negative reviews on health grades or similar websites? Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!

Has anyone here dealt with adult ADHD? I have a few coping mechanisms that allow me to be high functioning but def deal with insecurities seeing my peerset so on the ball. Curious if any of us have dealt with mental health issues.
