Go on Glassdoor. See what salaries are for your role at similar agencies. Determine your market value and ask for an increase that gets you what you’re worth. It also can’t hurt to put together a list of your contributions/successes in your role. Do not feel bad about asking. The worst that will happen is they’ll say no. Men ask for more all the time. Go get that money!

When you can ground your request in facts you’ll feel less nervous. Also be prepared with a full bullets in your head as to how you’ve gone above and beyond. Being able to articulate this with facts as well will make your ask hard to deny. If you can talk about your impact on the business as well that’s a bonus.
I don’t think so
Ask for more but have your research ready plus what you’ve contributed to the agency in bringing in revenue
It’s more about percentage than about the $5K. So be reasonable with your ask. And always remember, before you get the job is your best shot at getting what you want. Once you’re in your role, it’ll be hard to negotiate a raise and get what you want. With all that said, do your market research and know what it’s paying. Then make sure you can quantify why you’re worth more. And don’t be nervous. The more you practice, the better you’ll get at it
I agree with this! I just negotiated a 10.5% raise. I started at asking for 20% and we compromised, but with a clear path of what I need to do in order to reach the VP level in the next 6 months and be above the salary a 20% raise would have gotten me. Be confident and know your worth!
