Ladies I am 35 weeks pregnant and going on maternity leave in 2-3 days. Politics on my project has led to poor project snapshots. What should I do?

About your project? Nothing. You are about to embark on a far more important journey during maternity leave of giving birth and keeping that little babe alive!

👆🏻 This. Not your problem anymore.

Based on your responses, I understand your concern. However, rest assured that it’s so incredibly unlikely that they would fire you right now because of the optics of firing a pregnant woman during her leave. In the mean time, maybe have a few calls with a few people explaining the situation, see if you can sow some seeds that when you return you’ll be anxious to get back to work and either make up for past mistakes or make a new name for yourself, however you want to phrase it. Also know that in five weeks or so when Baby arrives, you will completely stop worrying about this. The first few weeks of taking care of an infant are so difficult - you won’t have the space in your brain to worry about this. I don’t say this to minimize your concerns, just to assure you that while this is definitely a problem for you now, in six months or so when you return from leave, no doubt new problems not caused by you at all will be people’s main concern!

So sorry to hear that OP. I would just say you should focus on the baby now and deal with the snapshots later. The good thing is they can’t fire you irrespective. I feel like you are in my group based on the way you’ve described the toxicity :(

I have never received such a bad feedback ever in my career and now this during pregnancy is very discouraging. Can they fire me?

Sadly in my project no one seems to be understanding

Thank you for your precious feedback. I have always been rated good but this is first time for me and this is my first project at PwC i am seeing this behavior of people and toxic culture. I would like to raise this to HR but not sure what repercussions it could create. I am very confident on the work I did tirelessly in midst of pregnancy for the last 8 months but the rating is something which is disheartening. It just discourages me from keeping my peace. I am looking forward to the baby and hopefully time will heal everything.

I am looking out already so that I don’t have to work with these folks to do ever. Sad but true PwC has many toxic people. Gosh I never experienced this at other Big4

For some reason, I never have issues with clients or the work at hand, but it's always internal people that give me the most grief. Everything can be going great with the client and project, and then an M just comes in to rain on the parade. How are these people building "eminence." Who wants to work with people that are always pessimistic and irritated.

My husband and I are trying to have a second child and have been trying for over a year. I recently was referred to a fertility doctor and after many tests found out I don’t have much time (I’m 36). The doctors say all I can really do is live a healthy lifestyle (which I do anyways). Any tips or advice from moms that battled infertility? I’m trying to stay positive but it can be so hard sometimes.

Married People/Life Partners - what conversations did you have with your spouses before deciding to become pregnant? No offense, but this question is for people that have actually planned and have leveraged 21st century contraception to do so along with strategic financial planning. I’d really like to understand the steps you and your spouses took before deciding to have a baby.

Couple financial questions: 1) what do you do with your 401k when you quit? 2) if you go to grad school and come back above the income limit for Roth IRA, do you leave it where it is to grow?

While everyone’s situation is unique, it appears to me that there is a general (and substantive) difference between the mindset of senior execs/partners (Gen Xers) and the Gen Z/Millennial troops as to the need to head back to the office. There is a world of difference between “the office” as code for “client lunches, rounds of golf” vs “needless commuting time that will eat into a working day that is already unsustainable”. Do you feel your organization is in touch with where you are?

Pro se plaintiff, an attorney, filed a complaint alleging mold defects after closing on a property. Client, layperson, may have agreed orally to a settlement amount without proof of damages prior to filing appearance and obtaining an attorney. Client filed appearance pro se, then plaintiff sent over a draft settlement agreement few weeks later which client didn’t sign. Client then got an attorney, filed answer, etc. Can this oral agreement be voided for coercion, indefinite mat’l term, etc?

How do you all handle tantrums from your toddler during dinner? We finally made it out to have a socially distanced dinner with a female friend of my husband. My toddler started getting really fussy during dinner and my spouse continued his conversation -not wanting to leave. I took the baby on a brief walk but that wasn’t really helping. Spouse still did not want to cut dinner short (we were already on dessert) and he kept his conversation going. I sat down and baby is grabbing plates (cont)

Say that you live in country A. You apply to a job in company X in country B (connecting with a director through LinkedIn). 4/5 days after a recruiter talks to you for a position in company X but in country A. You strongly prefer country B over A, so you state clearly to HR that you're willing to be part of the process only if you can also interview in B. You do not bring this up again and are in last round for X in country A. You have not heard back yet from B but prefer it. WWYD?
