Huge mistake to leave when promotion is relatively soon? If I’m kind of miserable every work day? I’ve asked friends and people in my network—just wanted to crowdsource too.
🐠 I officially accepted a new job yesterday! Promotion, big raise and a new city. Can’t believe it’s real and that it’s happening to me. 😭
I'm glad to see our Hospital Administrators do something to help raise morale, because the media is not seeing all of the dedication from everyone - especially Environmental Control workers
M7 infrastructure in Texas. I'm currently paid near bottom of scale in my group. I'm not upset and love my job and my peers. I have an offer for 40% raise to industry job. I prefer my current work though, both from daily work and career path. But 40% raise is a big deal. At what point is the pay raise more important than daily work joy. I'm stressing over this decision. I don't really want to leave.
Wanted to get some thoughts. My wife works in private accounting and just got promoted to manager. We prepared for her compensation negotiation for about a week. She goes in and they low ball her with only a 4k raise. She counters with her value to the firm and the office managing partner literally laughs in her face. You guys think she should just bail? I am embarrassed that this is how they treat their employees.
What firm has the best workforce planning / analytics practices? I’m trying to think about where i want to go after promotion.
I had an offer letter and I asked for more money since I’m getting a promotion. Recruiter said not likely but he would ask. I feel like I goofed and am slightly freaking out. Can they rescind the offer? 😭
As a woman, what are specific things that contribute to your engagement and retention at your firm - obviously pay, promotion, mat leave benefits.. other factors? “Soft” considerations? TIA!
New to options so appreciate the help in advance- have bought call options OOM - earnings is tomorrow - currently would make profit if I sold- but expecting good news tomorrow that would raise the underlying price. Multiple people are saying you should sell before earnings because the options price may actually go down - can someone explain if this is accurate and why?
What would you do? Just received my performance review with a specific % raise on salary and a % increase on bonus... and my colleagues are asking me for that percentage. Should I tell them??
Time in role until promotion. How long does it normally take to be promoted from a consultant to Manager assuming you came into the consultant role as an experienced hire.
Does anyone have advice on how to increase your realization? I'm told I'm not ready for a promotion because my realization is a little too low. I'm not understanding some of the things I cont....
I was making 99k at current employer and got an offer for 140k but no promotion with a competitor...should I take?
Hello! I’m looking for advice on asking for a raise. I accepted a UX design role about a year ago within my company and I was verbally told I would receive a raise with my title change after a few months on the job. After a few months, I was told no raises because of the pandemic (understood). With a new year and recently receiving my masters in UX, when is the right time to ask for the raise with the pandemic still happening?
Asking for a friend in IBM : What could be the expected hike % on a promotion from Band 7A - Advisory Consultant to Band 7B - Senior Advisory Consultant? Work Ex total - 6.5+ years (Salesforce), will complete 2 years in IBM in April Thanks!
What’s raise percentage between 1st and 2nd year? What’s percentage between 2nd year and senior? Are all service lines the same?
Is it unreasonable to expect a raise at the end of the year knowing that I’ll be on maternity leave part of next year?
Is advertising overrated? Do creatives ever think, "HA. This is REALLY what we're doing here??" And in that moment, is it a healthy reality check or does it mean you've been disillusioned all along?
@consultantswhotravel I’ve got 4 states to file in, what ways/tools/services do you all recommend on filing taxes in Chicago? The accountant I went to last year overcharged me like CRAZY.
Gearing up towards salary negotiations, I've got 2 YOE and 66.668$ TC as a consultant with no benefits. My role description has changed quite a bit since I started and I'm now the only colleague with a qualified QA degree in my team. I am considering putting forward a proposal of a 25-30% increase to match my role as QA lead, is this to bold?
Do you guys prefer to take breaks while staffed on an active study or wait until the study closes and schedule vacation for a week or whatever term between studies?
Any recs for shoe brands that offer something in between dress shoes and sneakers? (Eg Cole Haan, Swims, etc). Have a super casual client but a fairly traditional biz casual home office.
For singles during Covid times - how was your experience in dating or hooking up given the lockdown?
More and more over the last year I've thought I needed to get out. I'm not miserable but I'm also not happy like I used to be. Once I get my manager bonus in April I'm out.
Just got my green card! What are some perks I now have? Help me make the most of it. (TSA Pre Check, etc?)
I am a single woman who is a Workday Tech lead. I recently started with my consulting firm but I have been considering getting a dog for years. I found a retired small dog (from a breeder) who is 4 years old. Is it dumb to adopt the dog knowing that post covid there will likely be travel? I’m on a fully remote project until April 1st.
Anyone interested in a virtual networking event via zoom? Could help expand our network during this disruptive time - thoughts?
I’m thinking of getting a new credit card and can’t decide between American Express Gold and Chase Sapphire. Opinions please!
Transferring to a very demanding account. Have to pick up from day care few days a week, leaving by 4 and I'm pregnant due in August. They don't know yet. Is this a wrong fit? I need job security.
Help! I’m a decent teacher but admin has a target on my back this year & NO ONE knows why. I’m receiving my second write-up for an absolutely ridiculous reason (my rep agrees that it’s total crap but they manipulate the wording just-so to make it sound legit), but a third & I can be fired. I have to finish the year where I am to have my student loans forgiven. I’m terrified to go to work every day. A large part of my future is on the line & I’m stuck. It’s so unjust but I have no recourse.
