Ladies, I know Deloitte has 16 week parental leave. What’s the policy for your company ( BCG, Bain, McKinsey, PWC, Etc)? Thanks.

4wks parental leave. 6 wks STD for vaginal delivery, 8 wks for c-section

8 weeks parental + 8 weeks of std for birth mothers. Can take additional 2 months unpaid with benefits as well.

And technically deloitte has 16 weeks parental plus 6/8 weeks short term disability.

8 weeks parental leave + 8 weeks STD for birth parents + 4 weeks special birth leave in qualifying circumstances. You can be gone for up to either 10 months or a year with benefits. I can’t remember which exactly. Total short term disability is 26 weeks in a 52 week rolling period at 100% too, so if you are put on bed rest or anything during pregnancy, you’re totally covered

Correction on OW - 8 weeks parental + the short term disability

Thank you all!!

Our school instituted a district wide 50% floor/grading policy. If you give a student an assignment and they do nothing, not even write their name, or turn in a blank sheet of paper, they get a 50%. If they score less than 50% on a quiz or test, we have to mark it up to a 50%. This is the new norm and is causing kids to not do work, or just the bare minimum. It has taken the joy out of teaching and has taken away the accountability of students. Anyone else facing this? What do you do?

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!

Hi Ladies - Trying to decide when to officially go on leave. I was thinking two weeks before I’m due but everyone keeps telling me to work up until the due date to have more time at the end with the baby. I’m honestly just tired of working and barely get any sleep at this point. Wouldn’t mind having some me time (I have 5 months leave) but also realize the baby could come early. Let me know your thoughts!

Transitioned into consulting post-MBA (1.5 years ago) and generally enjoyed the experience. Since I joined my comp has gone up ~13% and I’ve liked my project teams but in my most recent review talk my partner told me he thought I was ready to be promoted and had advocated for me but there was an HR rule against it and I was on-track to be promoted in 6 months. Since then I’ve learned that one of my classmates (started 2-3 months before me due to COVID) was promoted last cycle.

The PE culture is sick. The 20 something VP was rude to our partner because our team took thanksgiving and the day before off and it was in the engagement letter that we were gonna be off. He kept emphasizing that his team did our job while we were on a break. Dude we are not sick like you and we have lives. I see something about how s**t the PE culture is in every deal we support. Like these sickos make fun of us for working 80+ hours weeks for them and taking thanksgiving off.
