I asked TCS for a salary renegotiation, they agreed and they sent the new salary breakup, But they are not sending the revised offer letter, Whenever I ask them they are saying it's in the clearance process you'll receive shortly.
But my date of joining is on Monday, HR is telling me to join & they'll send the updated offer letter within 7 days of my joining, can we trust these words, Has anyone faced a similar situation?Tata Consultancy

Hi fishes! Nagarro declined the counter offer letter ₹33,00,000 + shares worth 4.5LPA
I've 6+ yrs experience (mobile dev.)
Nagarro offered 18LPA. Initially I told HR for 22 but he mentioned 18 into their internal portal to their senior so after clearing all interview rounds I got 18.
When I asked the HR, he told me to accept it for now and bring the counter offer letter so they can revise offer letter.
But now they declined. Weird.
Get ready for the future, boys! 😁

All this means is they wouldn't have been a good employer. This isn't a reflection on you.
I have two colleagues that went to CO. Both were of decent talent, and both left within 6 months of being hired. You likely dodged a bullet.
One needed better WLB, and I'm not sure about the other.

I worked product at CapOne. It’s terrible. You’re better off this way. If you need help at other places let me know!

Where to begin?
The culture isn’t the best, for minorities. My peer, who had similar experience but wasn’t as technical, was often seen more favorably than I, a minority woman with a lot of technical expertise and same experience.
They pulled a bait and switch and I worked on a different product. The original product meant working on net new things but the switch meant working on legacy products and updating them. Mentors warned me not to take a position like the latter. It’s not exactly product or the right move to make if you’re serious about product.
interviewed for a manager role and was given a senior associate. I was told this role would have autonomy but it didn’t. Manager micro managed a lot and dictated the product roadmap. CapOne’s insistence that tech and product leads work together actually didn’t lead to better communication between the two. It creates unnecessary competition between the two roles.
Performance Management is a nightmare. If you get a bad rating, very easy to happen, it’s over. The rating stays with you and it makes it difficult to switch orgs.
I’m a minority that’s not commonly hired. I had to put materials together to teach my colleagues to be more respectful, mindful, and less biased towards people like me. Tbh, it’s hurtful when orgs ask minorities to put DEI materials together but than those who are the majority and don’t do this they get rewarded for other work. Basically sometimes DEI initiatives is viewed as passion projects and not legit work.
So TLDR: not great for product and not a great culture if you’re a minority

Wow. I’m so proud of you for negotiating and keeping your foot down on the things that matter.
I hate that companies do this but remember, all of this happened for a reason. Your skills, capabilities, and negotiations will be respected at the right company. Take a break this weekend from job stuff to regroup and build your confidence back up. You got this.

I’m sorry they did this to you. You may have dodged a bullet, if this is any indicator of how the company treats people.
That is shitty. Good for you for understanding your worth and asking for it. If they get spooked by someone asking forbore during a salary negotiation (and I can’t imagine you asked for $1m), can you imagine what it would be like trying to get a promotion, raise, etc? Chin up - you dodged a bullet.
Just out of curiosity, what did you ask for?
10 days is awful! We get 5 weeks + 10+ days office closure / bank holiday days. You dodged a bullet OP
Just so you know you are not alone… I have been searching for a new job and have experienced the same thing. I am really being asked to take significant pay cuts
No male I know has been asked to do the same
Just keep looking… it is out there
Thank you!
OP: Congratulations on knowing your worth and negotiating. I think you may have been saved from a nightmare situation. Imagine working hard for that team then they deny your raise/promotion. Better to cut loses now.
Speaks volume of their culture. You dodged a bullet. Protiviti is hiring, is competitive, has been flexible and has given wellness bonuses throughout the pandemic. I came from a bank that nickeled and dime in every way. So glad I’m no longer part of that. DM me if you’d like to chat.
Thank you soo much P1 for the kind offer! I’m taking a small mental health break from applications, but will certainly reach out once I start again :)
Yea, sorry to hear. That recruiter and team sounds like crap. It may be because of a recent reorg that the position is not there anymore, but they should have mentioned other positions that you could be a good fit for. I am curious bout the role, level, and what you asked for
I applied for a manager position, but they offered me a Senior associate position for a team based out of NYC. I know they mentioned they had other candidates as well.

You should be so proud of yourself! You stood up for yourself, let this be the path going forward. If someone gave me a withdrawal and say I’m no longer a fit, I’d say “I’m glad we are on the same page. I withdraw my interest”. Fkkkk them, toxic!

Post your experience on the Exit Opportunities bowl. Let others see, maybe that will trigger their leadership/recruiters to step up. I’d even send the story to Consulting Comedy IG account so they can post it.

This happened to me as well.. but at Philips.

Depending on state law and/or if your injury qualifies as a disability, they could have violated OHSA/discrimination laws about making a responsible accommodation by withdrawing your offer after requesting an accommodation for ergonomic equipment.
I am deeply sorry for what happened and the most important thing right now is for you to take care of your wellness- it should by no means have triggered your anxieties. Remember, most of the time, things happen and it is not about you. You are in it, but you are not being targeted.
From what I read, the interview did not go that well and that’s why they (yes C1 has HCs) downgraded you from Manager to SA, thus your expected TC exceeded their salary bands of SA and they decided to move on. It is as simple as that.
As women, we readily accept burdens, deservedly or not. I have no idea why, but it's held us back. Men struggle too, but society gives them a pass. I still can't understand any logical argument for why men make more on the dollar than we do. Excuse me, I have to go kick a garbage can.

May I ask why you negotiated via letter instead of a live conversation?
Your terms are reasonable, and it sounds like you dodged a bullet, but as a manger I would think it odd if a candidate sent me a letter to negotiate instead of having a conversation about it.

Ah. That’s so strange! You def dodged a bullet. Good luck with your job hunt and finding the right fit company and team who behave normally and understand the value you bring! ✊
You were better than they could afford. Congratulations! Respectful? This was a negotiation - do not apologize for asking for what you want. You weeded them out…that is a successful negotiation - for you. No longer a good fit? Lmao…Let them go to the discount rack - but never reduce your price. Stick to your guns sister - they deserve your disdain not your depression.
As someone who accepted a role in August 2020 that only offered 10 PTO days (no sick days or anything else), i can confirm you dodged a huge bullet. 10 days is only 2 weeks off. I was never able to take a vacation while working for them because I had to use my PTO for doctors appointments, condo closing, etc
Im now at a job that offers 22 PTO days and unlimited sick pay
Remember you don’t want to work for a toxic company! You’ll get a better opportunity later and you’ll be glad you didn’t accept the offer.
Run. This is a HUGE red flag.
