Ann Taylor has great suits in petites and regular. Nordstrom is also great and if you have a Nordstrom card they tailor for free.
I agree with pwc1- I find suits too old school. And theory blazers and skirts will do the trick
2 inch or less = frumpy. 3 inches is safe and stylish if the heel is cut correctly but you'd be surprised at the amount of compliments I've gotten from male and female interviewers over my shoes. But this is only if you can actually walk in them!
Go to saks off fifth! They have amazing amazing suits and blouses that are all designer, great quality and within reasonable pricing. Every person needs to own at least one quality suit. I'd recommend Tahari but check out what they have. Banana republic is poorly made and looks cheap and actually isn't cheap.
Banana republic
Don't go with BR unless you want to show up with the same outfit as at least 2 other people (true story). I don't find suits very flattering but have never had issues with a nice dress and nice coat. Theory has great options and they also have outlet stores
Halogen is amazing
Is a dress/blazer combo acceptable for east coast b school interviews?
Black skirt suit. White shirt. Can never go wrong and will last you a lifetime. I think 4in shoes on an interview are too much. I would suggest 2 inches or less.
(If you can't I would suggest nice flats) ^
Last call by NM is a good choice too. Lots of cute Tahari and DVF dresses and good work clothes in general
Dress and blazer combo. BR is expensive for extremely low quality. Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, J. Crew for Blazers. Madewell for dress.
Limited has solid suit options too. And they come in tall.
Always go conservative with a twist
Love navy pencil skirt and then a red blazer - white shirt -
If they're nice enough pieces. I find theory coats to be some of the best cut and most flattering and get compliments almost every day. They also have some really classy black dresses. I work at an ultra conservative bank right now and pair that with black tights and Stuart Weitzman 4 inch leather booties
Theory is great for suits and they have modern cuts so don't look too conservative / dowdy. Worth the investment
@pwc1 please share which booties?
