I think if you are feeling this way you should seek professional help/advice rather than reach out to people on this app. As someone who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder must people are not equipped to help and can do more harm than help. CBT, meditation, and even antidepressants are definitely avenues that may be helpful with the advice and guidance of a professional ♥️

Thanks for sharing. I already talk to someone professionally for it and go to a ED specialist. It’s just lately I feel hyper obsessed and am crumbling from the pressure of it. Was curious to hear other perspectives.

I am so scared of gaining weight, feel unloved by guys, and am terrified of being alone even after this quarantine. I think so lowly of myself because I’m a “high performer” professionally but feel so behind in my personal life. Any advice on how to overcome this?

Would appreciate any advice or chatting. Feel so alone and beyond stuck. 😢

I feel the same way at times. This weekend I actually deleted IG from my phone and focused on improving / cleaning / de-cluttering my home. I am a clean and tidy person but it’s amazing how much stuff I’ve accumulated in a year. It gave me time to focus on a task rather than what people were posting and looking like on IG. I would recommend removing negative triggers and focus on other pieces of your life you can control. Books can also go a long way.

Try covering up all the mirrors in your house for at least a day. Also if you can get outside to go running the endorphins may help a little bit. This is just for managing the additional stress right now, obviously not a full solve without the other help you’ve already mentioned you’re getting. Also, if you can have a chat with one family member or friend, that will help you feel more connected immediately

Let me know if you need someone to talk to. 🥰 i got you boo

I’ve been having some similar feelings. I just try to take it an hour at a time. Trying to cook healthy meals when I am up for it, taking baths, and getting outside on runs. I’m also making more of an effort to journal, which always helps my mood. Trying to be accepting and loving of myself when my flaws/weaknesses are really flaring up during this time

I agree with previous comments to ensure you’re talking to a professional about these things because they have the tools and life skills to help you and can be tailored to your specific needs.

As a fellow human being, I can assure you likely most people have struggled with body image in some shape or form; acknowledging, of course, that the struggles vary greatly, but sometimes just knowing you are not alone can be helpful. While I haven’t been diagnosed with an eating disorder, I have struggled with being overweight and my relationship with food my whole life so there is a part of me that can relate.

What has helped me deal with our current reality is knowing there are some things I can control and trying to focus on the things which bring me joy, make me smile, and bring positivity to my life. I’m trying to spend as much cuddle time as I can with my dog. Trying to reach out to and connect with friends and especially with those relationships I neglected. Taking pride in self-care like doing mud masks with my SO. And generally just trying to de-stress and relax. Mediation is helpful for me. Lighting a shit ton of candles and playing jazz is comforting. Taking a mid-day nap with my dog is as good as it gets some days. These are things which nourish my soul.

Is my kitchen a hot mess with dishes and food sitting out, sure. Is my bedroom filled with clothes that are both folded and unfolded which have yet to be put away, you betcha. Are my closets filled to the brim and need to be organized, abso-freaking-lutely. But focusing on the negative isn’t going to make my life better. Are others “doing life” better, nope, they’re just doing it in a way that works for them. I’ve tried to remain off social media as much as possible because everyone’s life is different and comparisons don’t help anyone. I have been indulging in social media for enriching activities like yoga, meditation, and listening to the authentic stories of others. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself my friend.

Cognitive behavioral therapy was actually really helpful for me. I used Joyable, which is a phone app. My doctor recommended it so I’d reach out to your primary healthcare provider about it first. It’s also pretty convenient for the quarantine ☺️

Junior associate here (2L). Got some ‘constructive feedback’ from a 4L. We went over budget on a matter, and 4L thinks it has something to do with my inefficient delegation to 0Ls (and not the all the out of scope work the client asked us to do but doesn’t want to pay for...). Delegated tasks included basic grunt work like splitting out documents, preparing execution versions and other low-level tasks. 4L asked me to check with them before I delegate anything in the future. Thoughts?
